The advantage with Marquis is that he’s been quite open about wanting to come here. I don’t know why we can’t get him, we ain’t getting a cultured striker in League One but in both games v us and in the playoffs, he looks exactly the striker we thought Wyke was gonna be, and that’s exactly what we need. I’m gonna assume it’s him because that gives me a bit of buzz for the season, he’d be my pick think he’s better away from the box than Eaves who would have been the other option prior to his move.
Sunderland Echo - Marc McNulty The Reading striker has held talks over a potential switch, after Lee Bowyer revealed on Tuesday night that the Black Cats had beaten Charlton Athletic to a deal. McNulty is a 26-year-old Scottish striker who was linked with a move to Suderland in January, but eventually joined Hibernian on loan. He made an impression there, scoring seven goals in fifteen league matches and making his international debut in the process.
Conflicting reports about who the signing could be. This one says its Marquis https://charlton.vitalfootball.co.uk/here-is-the-striker-we-missed-out-on-as-sunderland-make-swoop/
I know nowt about McNulty but looks like he made an impression at Hibs in a league that’s about upper League One standard so we will see.
You mean it isn't?! Anyway, in other news, there's now a suggestion that its Tyler Walker (son of Des) from Forest.

I really dislike going back to ex players but he's training with some west Yorkshire part timers after playing in the championship.
Not usually a good idea is it but he did well with us and I believe he's still in good nick in terms of injuries and pace. I've thought since he left that I'd welcome him back and we could do with him now.
McNULTY CLOSE TO SUNDERLAND MOVE Sky sources understand Marc McNulty is on the verge of joining Sunderland. The Reading striker scored eight goals in 17 games during a loan spell with Hibernian last season and made his Scotland debut in March.
