It’s good to read on Twitter that Aston Villa expect to sell out the away end for Chris Solly’s testimonial next Saturday. I’m not normally in favour of making rich footballers even richer in this way, but Chris has been a good servant to the club during ten years of chaos, and is a decent guy as well. He undoubtedly would have gone on to play at a higher level and earned far more but for the bad luck with his chronic knee injuries. Next Saturday is also a chance for the boycotters to see our new team in action at the Valley, whilst not putting a penny in the Belgian helmet’s pocket. What’s not to like.
Can't be ar5ed with the queueing up. Very few seats sold in Lower North, Lower west selling well, everywhere else closed. Let's hope we get a couple of decent loan signings this week to raise the interest level.
It looks as if Villa have indeed sold out the away end for Saturday- but we have only sold 1,100 tickets I suppose an attendance of around 7,000 is still possible.
A rare event. I have discovered, that for once Mr ban Gerwen is not bull********. I have been on the Villa website and they only have about 100 seats left for Saturday. They are going to have more fans than us, a poor show.
Looking forward to seeing a Charlton team. Let's hope a lot of fans decide to pay on the day. It's been a long time since the last testimonial match and it could be even longer until the next one.
London Briidge station closed on Saturday, why isn’t going to help with the attendance. @baraettmattesvensson - given your bogus concern about us being outnumbered, will you be attending ?
