Except who was happy with what we had and what had been dished up for the last few years, it may take time to come together but I’m not really bothered

Yes, but are we sexier than last season?

I must say it would not take much to improve on S McClaren.

I have to agree with your post. I'm getting ever more worried as the days, news and rumours pass by. If this doesnt work out then god help us!

Is it not because of our financial situation?

We need to go out on the rob. Leslie needs to pop into the Bernabeu in a raincoat with false arms and large pockets in the liners, then pop out again with Gareth Bale up his jumper.

    Or something.

I feel a bit that way too. It's pretty sad when we have 'one of ours' leaving, to be replaced by a Chelsea loanee.

"One of ours" is only marginally more acceptable than "through and through".

Why do we say that certain players are "Rangers through and through" as they're making their way out of the door?

The players that have left are players that could only get us to an 18th place finish last season, would they have done any better this season under new management who knows! Smith and Amos are hopefully hungry to impress and will give us what we need in the middle, the defence was poor last season so let’s hope the new rearguard are less susceptible to errors, attacking options worry me at the moment, would be surprised if we don’t get at least one out and out striker but we are QPR so who knows what might happen, I Would rather watch exciting attacking football win lose or draw and end up in 18th not the drab I’ve been watching recently and finish 18th. Looking forward to taking my seat on the 10th and hopefully a team ready to play some decent footie.

Do you have a link to Roller's article or how I can find it?

I think most of us have come to terms with our constraints but a glimmer of hope would be heartwarming.

Personally, I find the number of loans in the last couple of years the most disconcerting and would love for us to be able to use what we have, improve weak areas with our own players and stop progressing other club's assets with no return (which defeats the buy cheap sell moderately high philosophy). I do appreciate that it might be a short term fix to ensure we can stay in the Championship more comfortably though.

Well Furlong is 'one of ours' in that he's been with the club since he was a kid and is the son of former favourite and current youth coach. It's important to feel a little affinity with the players you are cheering on, I would say.

Indeed - a day trip to Lowestoft in June.

I've been locked off the site (it doesn't like password resets it seems) and generally not had much to say of interest when I have got back on (nothing new there).

Wifey has had a strange mix of pleurisy, possible glandular fever and costochondritis (still ongoing) which has occupied a lot of time since March so not really been on here too much as a reader.

I'm back up on the transfer and friendly threads now though so brimming with excitement at a season of raucous mediocrity!

Good to see you back mate. Good luck to your wife, that’s a vicious combo. My wife has had pleurisy, can be very nasty indeed.

Just need to sell Eze then will will have a brand new starting 11. Pukka Pie striker last season would have put us in the play offs, thank god got rid of Smith and joker on loan strikers unfortunately we now have no one up front and have now sold our only"hes one of our own "Furlong, could go badly wrong.

That's encouraging. Let's hope we can bring in a decent striker because without it, we're reliant on midfield scoring goals. Freeman was always a good bet tor that.

According to my sources, Judge was consistently a contender for MOTM for Ipswich after signing in the January window.

He does have an affinity with Ipswich (fans reacted compassionately when he got a bad injury playing for an opposition club and I think he's kick started his career since signing for them) so surprised he's keen on it.

Even more surprised that we can potentially offer enough money for a player the club doesn't want to sell.
