I think and certainly hope, that Boris being PM makes the cancellation of Brexit a little easier. I think opposition to a no deal Brexit if no deal is done by end of October which is very unlikely, will be stronger in Parliament than the opposition to the slight delay Hunt proposed to get a deal, would have been.

Having myself just gone through an acrimonious divorce, I’m beginning to think that, having been presented with the now (thankfully) ex-Mrs Uber’s exorbitant financial demands as reward for her part in an unpleasant near 20-year union, I should’ve realised that I didn’t want to be divorced in the first place. Quite clearly, I didn’t fully understand the question of divorce when initially presented with the facts.

Why yes, why shouldn’t I continue to put up with her lying, cheating, narcissistic ways for the rest of my time on earth, whilst paying through the nose every day for the privilege of maintaining this unhappy union?

Free movement of people? Yep, mostly men, though.

    Silly me.

I’m off for a **** and a slice of carrot cake.

For a moment I thought you were going to ask for another poll because you didn't like the result of the first one.

Excellent. It's boris. The ultimate puppet. At least he knows where the novichok came from, the guy from porton down told him. There was no good outcome available.

Home from work where I heard the news from the UK. One of my students said to me today, 'Trump and Boris...you want to stay in France, no?'

Attach yourselves to the zip wire chaps, union flag in each hand. We're in for a bumpy political ride over the next 6 months.

We can go to Loftus Road for a rest of the end of each week, confident we are fielding five goalkeepers

My bet is he will. Even Remainer Tories will be reluctant to bring about a GE and there are some Labour MP's that will support Boris if he can improve the deal. If an approach to No Deal does bring about a GE, he'll do a deal with Farage which should be enough to get him over the line.

I've never been a Boris fan, but already there is a more optimistic, confident, businesslike approach to the future than we ever saw through May. Voters may warm to it, if he surrounds himself with positive, competent people

He'll have to call a GE before 31st October and there'll another hung parliament.

    Lib/Lab/SNP coalition.

I think Strolls is right, Johnson has a working majority of 2, assuming none of the Remainer Tories vote against him, which they will. I think his majority includes the extremely unreliable DUP. He’s in exactly the same boat as May, holed under the waterline by his own party. He might be better off calling an election really fast, because Corbyn is now obviously a liability for Labour, and Watson is behaving disgracefully refusing to apologise over this imaginary Brittan stuff. But I think a hung parliament still the most likely outcome. We’ll see. Even if he gets a proper majority no way can Johnson ever deliver his second objective, ‘unity’.

Positivity is great, if it’s accompanied by results.

I don't see the Libs doing a deal with Corbyn as Labour leader. Jo Swinson was pretty clear about that on Radio 4 today. But another leader, they might. But Lib/Lab/SNP are hardly forging ahead at present.

Do you think Corbyn is going anywhere? He still has support from the grassroots and will most likely see the year out at least

Good for Johnson and perhaps Swinson if he stays where he is. If the rumours about his health have any credence he might go, and his support from the grassroots, especially on Brexit (Labour members rather than voters) is fading fast. But he’s not very savvy and the health of the Labour Party, as opposed to pushing his own, outdated, agenda, has never been his top concern, he’s spent most of his career at odds with whoever the party leadership were.

Johnson might be more concerned about Farage, will be interesting to see what he campaigns on, might have to be no deal Brexit to negate the Brexit Party. Fun times.
