I was in the US when Trump was elected - I awoke to the news and was shocked. Now we have our own version over here running the show. I vote SNP, but in the Scottish referendum I voted No, based on staying in the EU, and a (now evident) misplaced sense of loyalty. I`m now ashamed, and I won`t be such a mug next time.

Seems it is a race to the bottom. Sad to think there are now two in power on each side of the Atlantic. I just keep hoping soon the bottom will be reached and there will still be enough reasonable people to pull us back up the hill. Sitting at the bottom whenever we get there sounds like my version of hell.

    What a mess.

Buffoon of a PM and unelectable socialist opposition.

Surely, surely, someone will try and appeal to the centre of politics again.. please??

If this race to the bottom is anything like the employee recruitment at the place I work, for a department with very poor staff retention, not only will the bottom of the barrel be scraped, but it will then be lifted up and a very deep hole dug beneath it, in search of ever worse people. :emoticon-0145-shake

That is it then. We are now well and truly ****ed unless any Tory rebels have the guts to cross the floor. We can forget that then for self interest motivates our modern breed of politician. We have no option other than to accept that we are totally ****ed. I am glad we stocked up on supplies. My one concern is my medication. If I can't get that then I will slowly die. It has been nice knowing you all.

Did you notice that the shot of the railway tracks, from the bridge, was in Southampton?

To be fair no! My grandad lived in Kent Road, St. Denys. The railway ran past his back garden. This has no relevance to anything at all!

I am staggered that you think Jeremy Corbyn is unelectable. The previous election in 2017 showed that Labour could make a very effective challenge to the Conservatives. For me, the problem is that the media seems to be ignoring all the good work realigning Labour back to it's core values and concentrating on the non-story about anti-Semitism. I have lot count of the number of times that Jeremy has had to explain the party's position whilst a number of politicians on the Right of the party try to sabotage his tenure simply because they are not genuine socialists.

It will be a tragedy if Corbyn does not get elected. Few politicians have had his integrity and strong moral compass, always fighting for the poor and those marginalised by society. I hope that Momentum ensure that those politicians who are not on board are deselected in the next general election. Either you are on the bus or your are not. We have the chance to rectify 40 years of disaster and I think most genuine Labour supporters appreciate that Jeremy will represent a sea-change for western politics.

I do not feel Boris Johnson will fair any better against the EU. Parliament will not allow a no deal Brexit to proceed and I feel it is obvious that we will have a general election in the autumn. No one forgives the Liberals for being liars and helping the Tories assist with austerity. They cannot be trusted. The only way out of the mess is with a Socialist government and I am almost inclined that we need one with a good majority in Parliament so as to wipe out any opposition so that the things that need to be implemented to sort out the morass that has accumulated since 1979 without opposition from parties whose interests have been unfairly protected since this time. For what it is worth, Momentum are currently campaigning to unseat Boris in his own constituency which is considered by Labour to be winnable. I think that Jeremy will prove many doubters wrong and with the energy of the people within the Socialist movement, I think that some serious wrongs will ultimately get righted with this countries first genuine socialist government. That said, a more demonstrative show of disapproval following the "coronation" of Boris would have been appreciated from Labour - I am not a fan of the SNP but Sturgeon always manages to come in with just the right and well judged sound bite.

This is, for me, a worry.
Having already fecked up the NHS it seems that the Tories now want to divert patients way from their GP to a local pharmacy.
In theory, with minor ailments, this might not be a bad idea, but from personal experience of dealing with pharmacies, I can see this causing more problems than it solves.
My dealings with the pharmacy at the General Hospital, over the last several months, is that it is on the verge of collapse as a result of not having enough staff to cope with the pressure of work.
My wife’s prescription was lost, on one occasion, delayed on another and lacking tablets in the correct dosage on another. That represents errors in 50% of the prescriptions that were issued to her.
At one point they were so far behind, on dispensing prescriptions, they stopped selling off the shelf products.
Fast forward to last week, and my wife’s prescription from the local pharmacy, was three days late in being dispensed, owing to them not being able to action the prescriptions quickly enough.
The impact on dispensing medication, caused by a pharmacist having to deal with a regular influx of GP patients, would be immense.

It's no coincidence, of course. US foreign policy is to pick fights and then have you all fight them for us.

Trump and Bolton played you like a fiddle. Think about how mindboggling-y stupid you have to get owned by Trump. But of course the truth is grimmer than that. The real truth is that Johnson and his cronies don't care what happens to your country and bargained correctly. Trump wants power over the UK, Boris wants power for himself. That was the deal that was struck. They sold you out.

Boris won’t last. He might not actually become Prime Minister.

    Wait and see...
