I assumed, because of your keepers comment, you were referring to the old 'can't have too many keepers' gag from last season. I was laughing with you...
I think he looks like a centre back being played at right back. It would be like Delaney all over again.
Assuming the Cork lad joins, and only Bowen is going, surely priorities now are specialist full back cover + another out & out striker option. (It's a pity KLP isn't another year or so on in his development). Other than that, fair play, the squad is taking shape, although serious strength in depth for a play off push is missing. Re. comments about Darnborough. I don't think he has ever been the problem. We all surely know who is.
Just remind me, how much have we spent? On the plus side is those we thought would be dead certs for being sold are still with us.
I think he has definitely been seen as part of the problem by quite a lot of people on here. Wonder if he would help himself by being a bit more visible in the media, but seems to me to be unearthing a reasonable number of decent prospects and did well with Burke and De Wijs last season.
The other big plus is very little to nothing added from new signings to the (alleged) £50million still owed to the ****s
Our Communications Manager doesn't even communicate with anyone, you've got no hope with our Recruitment Manager.
Yes we have signed and are looking to sign players but I think our time to judge our recruitment will be when we get into the season. I think Campbell will be hard to replace but hopefully the players we have brought in and the hopefully ones to follow will be good enough to help compete in this league. Many of us haven't even seen any play yet but are saying they are pleased with the recruitment. The manager has been restricted in who he signs and for the nothing amount of money he has had then they are big gambles. On the plus side not to many have left but I would think over the next week a lot can happen. It's always nice to be positive and I think the fact that we have at least signed more than one player at this stage of the transfer window has pleased many. Let's see what the next week or so brings.
I'm surprised Campbell hasn't got fixed up yet, currently training with Brighouse to keep his fitness levels up. I'm sure if he wasn't being too greedy, and/or seeking a 3 year deal most would welcome him back here based on last seasons performances.
Hull and Queens Park Rangers are plotting to raid Nottingham Forest for defender Joe Worrall, Football Insider understands.
With a little over 2 weeks of the window there's still plenty of time for Bowen and Grosicki to be sold. My guessing is the final few days we'll see bids come in. Someone on here said they'd be happy to see them go if it means the Allams finally ****ing off. Couldn't agree more. Bowen was always eventually going to leave for a bigger club and Grosickis contract ends soon. It's better we get money for him to lower the price of the club.
The problem is this...if eaves starts banging em in then the allams will value him at 10 mill and add it on to the 50 mill.
