Pathetic that someone would do that. Good for Jake in outing the fake. Meanwhile, another good article about the Webber version of Moneyball and the revolution it has brought about: www.alongcomenorwich.com/articles/webbers-moneyball-plus/#comment-15
My word, this looks the business!! This is where you spend your money if you are a smart, progressive Club. Things like this:
Open training session - https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/july/norwich-city-open-training-session-at-carrow-road/
Pukki feeling confident ahead of the season opener according to this article by DDF - https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/pukki-sure-city-can-thrive-in-epl-1-6176529 Edit - I implore EVERY NVFC fan tor read this article and ESPECIALLY the excerpt I have copied below. https://www.alongcomenorwich.com/articles/201819-the-acn-review7691741/ I'd like to see it in the Match Day programme for the Newcastle game!!! Hopes for 2019/20? Jon: That the fans stick with the players and the direction the club has decided on. Hero status can swiftly turn to you being the latest scapegoat when a few results or performances don't inspire. The supporters' role is to challenge the norm - don't barrack Todd Cantwell because you're looking for someone to blame as an Aguero or Mane put us to the sword. Don't question the philosophy when we are on the end of a tonking or two. Don't blame Delia for failing to splash the cash when our expectations are very much being set right now. We're Norwich City, we do different. Let's continue to celebrate that, never mind the danger.
I also enjoyed the article, and the one before it as well on 'Webber's Moneyball Plus': https://www.alongcomenorwich.com/articles/webbers-moneyball-plus/#comment-15 As for my hopes for this season it's crucial that everybody stays on board even when things get tough, but on the pitch, I hope DF will continue to use tactical variations to counteract the opposition the way he has been doing in pre-season. The usual 4-2-3-1 worked very well last season, but it could be very vulnerable against the likes of Liverpool and Citeh. I'd like to see us go to Anfield with the 3-4-3 formation we used late on against Schaulke. It allowed us to be potent on the break while still being solid at the back with Lewis, Hanley and Godfrey as CBs. Hopefully Klose will be back and Lewis can return to LB/WB, though both Heise and Byram have looked good and allow DF a much greater degree of flexibility, as do Drmic and Roberts in attack.
Anyone else planning on going to the 'Open Training' session at CR on Friday??? Gates open at 3pm and session scheduled to last from 4 until 6pm. https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/july/norwich-city-open-training-session-at-carrow-road/
Loving the fact we've got quality back up in every position now. (I'm including DM in that too). Be interesting to see if Srbeny gets more run outs in the remaining pre-season fixtures. Could he be this season's surprise package like Stieperman last year?
I also like Srbeny's playing behind the striker. It was less of a surprise that Stiepermann moved there, as he described it as his best position when he arrived. At the moment Srbeny is going to get little time up front, so offering a second striker option makes sense. More creative thinking from DF, methinks.
DF not expecting any more incoming players - https://www.skysports.com/football/...e-realistic-over-norwich-transfer-limitations
DF sounds a little flat in that interview: "I'm happy with my group of players. I won't complain and I'll work with whatever I've got and I'm pleased with that. We have all these lads together and I expect a quiet last two weeks." IMO, our strength lies in a group of good players who are gelled before the season begins, coming off last season as Champions. Four top level players have been added as well as Heise and Byram. They're fit from the double sessions, they're a tight knit team, knowing each others play and most have top level experience. That won't always be enough against the top teams, but it will be more than enough to get us past 40 points and could surprise a lot of people beyond that.
