Not sure about this one. We don't NEED another striker and if rather we spent that sort of money on a DM. Also 'Read Norwich' (and other sites carrying the story) are not always the most reliable sources of information.
I realise that, they quote Ghanasoccernet as their source, but I can't find anything about it on that site. Just another smidgen of 'content' on the transfer rumour 'content' page, really. I'll bet 70 of the 83 pages of this thread have all been hot air or come to nothing
Haha. I am looking into both friendlies. Plenty of seats. I was going to go with my fiancé’s dad and brother, but her mums had another fall and broke her arm. So that’s complicated plans for The Tuesday night.
As JMF says, we have enough strikers now with Pukki, Drmic, Srbeny and Idah, who has taken his chances very well so far. If the right DM or CB/DM becomes available we might swoop, but I'm beginning to think we've finished our business in this window. SW and his team have done very well and the new arrivals have slotted into the team very well. Just four new players (plus Idah moving up) have given DF a whole new range of options and formations to use.
We can almost include Heise as a new player as we didn't have him available last season, with the added bonus that he has spent 6 months getting acquainted with the squad and philosophy
Very true, and he must be champing at the bit to get going now. Interesting that his addition has allowed DF to experiment with Lewis as a CB in both a two and a three CB formation. He has suggested a willingness to alter the formation to meet new challenges both before and during matches, and he now has the options to do that. I was intrigued by the formation at the end of the Schaulke match where Godfrey, Hanley and Lewis were the 3 CBs and Byram and Heise were WBs.
Sounds like rather than Luca Connell as rumoured earlier in the window, we might be raiding Bolton for youngster Dennis Politic.
Patrick Viera’s OGC Nice have reportedly lowered their asking price for French youth international winger Allan Saint-Maximin – and Newcastle United have re-entered the race to sign the 22-year-old. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-enter-negotiations-to-sign-ps22million-rated-french-winger-after-ligue-1-outfit-lower-asking-price-
Who in their right minds would sign a player called "Maximin'? You surely want maxi everything and no min?
Amazing prospect. I expect the biggest teams would have scouted him a hell of a lot. I'd forgive his mistake of being at Ipswich. Never going to happen, will need a lot of money, Ipswich wont want to sell to us, and Lambert would probably threaten to quit over it.
Yeah I'd be very excited to pick him up too. Fits the NCFC recruitment profile, signing a player from a club desperate for money, offering the player a direction and future not available where he is now. Bring him in then loan him to another league one club, I'd suspect.
An Ipswich lad thru-and-thru. His father, Jason, played 10 seasons down there, so I can't see him even considering NCFC.
Why on earth would 4th official know we were testing resolve in the next 2 days? We might test the binners resolve and then the press will know but this sounds like nonsense. Re the lad, I think him and his dad might well see the bigger picture. For his career City must be a better option, they will both know it's a short career and if we were the best option on the table I.e. no championship or other PL clubs or at least ones that are proven at developing youth, then with our youth development it could swing it. The binners can offer him 1st team football and being his club. Might be right for him this year but when they fail to go up, it will definitely be time for him to reassess. I reckon this should be filed under more bullshizen Bah!
Just seen a suggestion on twitter: Dozzell's agent leaks this rumour, Dozzell promptly signs new contract, player gets credit for turning us down, ITFC get credit for fending us off, manager gets to say something positive about convincing him to buy into their project. That makes a lot of sense.
Bless their cotton socks. Doesn't matter if you're down in League One if you can pull off a coup like that!
