Just finished 'Brexit, No Exit' by Denis Macshane. Load of crap. Now started Michael Palin's Diaries: 1969-1979 The Python years.
I’m about halfway through The Satanic Verses. Guess what? Salman Rushdie is a very funny writer. I had no idea there would be so many laughs. I’m only reading it because next month I am accompanying a friend to one of those “Evening With” events, where writers talk about their books (he’s got a new one out).
It will be interesting to see what security is like for the event, that’s for sure. Rushdie lives in America now. Not sure anyone is safe from gunmen there, so in that sense he can live a normal life.
I enjoy a good book but I just can't seem to finish them over the past year. I get into one and then put it down. Got about 5 like that.
Are you my teen beast? She has done exactly the same thing...at least now she's reading them I don't have to listen to her incessant ranting about the **** ending!
