Yeah it's part of the reason I wouldn't mind seeing them come up, always a good atmosphere when we play them. Villa are another one too.
Villa fans at wembley this year "leeds, Leeds are falling apart again" lots of others probably sang it too but I liked it
Probably. Guess I remember the Villa one better because they were in my local after the game and the entire pub joined in
Villa fans sang it first at Elland Road in the penultimate Championship match that they drew which meant that Dirty Leeds missed out on auto promotion.
Most people in St Helens just call Wigan fans Pie Eaters rather than by Wigan, I suppose old habits die hard on both sides!
Low lie the fields of Athenry Where once we saw the small free birds fly Our love was on the wing We had dreams and songs to sing It’s so lonely round the fields of Athenry.
She’s proud of that mate! “What time is it when there is a pie on the Wigan town hall clock?l “Soming to ate”
The old joke was two Wigan chaps talking to each other and one said "The George has a deal - a pie, a pint and an hour with a woman for a pound" the other says "which pie is it?"
still, pretty cool to be married to a lady from the town that was voted world's best disco in the 70s. Quirky reasons to love our country
Chain ferries are a sore point on the Island....had one chugging between East and West Cowes quite adequately. It was then replaced with a fancy new one at an extortionate cost that has proved not fit for purpose....too big, cars get damaged going on and off and it likes to skittle boats with its hawser. Out of action so often that the road sign saying it isn't working is now permanent, so you have a nice surprise if it is.
