Wow. 3-1 defeat. It's only a pre season but we are considerably weaker than last season by the looks. Still time to strengthen, but the question of how much RD will sanction is huge. I generally try to ignore pre season results but there's no sugar coating this one.
I dread to think what Blackburn (and numerous others) will do to us!!! GK had a nightmare; nothing in midfield, do we have any forwards worthy of the name?
What's worrying is that our defense is the area we're best covered, and we let in 3 to a lower L1 team. Bowyer has said that the loan players would be late arriving, let's hope it's not too late. Most fans feared a disaster this summer, with the loanees leaving, and players out of contract, and it looks as though our fears may be turning into reality. However much we trust Bowyer&co if Douchatelet refuses to subsidise any suitable incomings we're fvcked.
Yes I will be there. I also went to Gillingham and I wished I hadn't have bothered. Taylor strutting around like he is Maradona. Poor defensively, nothing in midfield apart from Williams.Aneke and Page with hamstring injuries. Taylor also picked up a knock. Terrible day out.

Pre-Seasons are for limbering up, I do not put any importance in the results. It does seem that our midfield will be by-passed quite easily next season. I think our shortcomings will be badly exposed next season and expect a very hard time.
He spoke out earlier this year, I think he's a thoughtful fella, way beyond just getting paid. He knows, and sees that this place is a shambles. A poundshop with volunteers who have got lucky.
A poor day all round. I have faith that Bowyer and Gallen will do the very best they can to bring in quality loan players, but this season we will need four absolute minimum - preferably five - who are as good or better than Josh Cullen & Krystian Bielik. And no injury prone crocks either. That is a massive ask.
The three signings we made back in June are good chaps I expect. And it's good to have re-signed a few from last season as well. I'd rather have them in the squad again than not have them. But Charlton have nothing even close to a competitive Championship squad right now, as we all know. Only five (minimum) solid quality 2nd tier players will give us a chance to compete in this coming season. I might reasonably expect LB & SG to have a couple of great loan signings up their sleeves. But five? I feel right now that it's stretching hope beyond credibility.
