I missed it, volume was down on telly, but he didnt look to happy at all, did she ask Slur Alex a couple of difficult questions
He always looks like that... like a bulldog swallowing a wasp. Then again a team that has a midfield containing Carrick will never amount to much.
All she asked was if Lindegaard had given him a selection headache...apparently this is a stupid question.
He will attempt to instruct referees to ''protect'' Doh Gea again this weekend. Apparently its illegal to tackle keepers that weigh less than Posh Spice.
If they didnt have a dodgy keeper that question would have been irrelevant I want Kelly to be toucline reporter for ALL United games, on BBC,Sky,ESPN,ITV,Radio 5,Setanta and CBS and Al Jazeera as well if poss
No but it is illegal to FOUL them. Twice in quick succession De Geay was fouled at West Brom. No free kick was awarded on either occasion. Now, I wouldn't expect you to agree with anything Sir Alex says or does as you have form for talking biased ****. But right minded people would see that there was nothing wrong with what Sir Alex said before tho Bolton game with regards to keeper protection. It certainly wasn't any worse than your own managers rant after your defeat on Saturday. As for tonight, I think he was harsh on Kelly and had no reason to react in the manner he did.
Hardly a rant was it? KD today spoke to the 'Professional Game Match Officials' general manager' Mike Riley to discuss issues in private. Unlike Bacon face who prefers to do this through the media.
Rooney went up for a 50-50 challenge and was unlucky to be booked imo. However, he WAS punished, which is EXACTLY what Sir Alex asked for. Not seeing the hypocrisy here. The West Brom player went in to take out the keeper and nothing else without punishment. Watch the 3 incidents in the respective matches, ask yourself who was going in to take out the keeper and who was challenging for the ball and, finally, look at how they were dealt with.
If you want to call it a rant, fine. But he withheld a lot of things out of respect for the referee and the opposition. He also met with the refs' chief at Melwood to discuss it. Maybe Ferguson should consider doing the same if he feels aggrieved? No point in telling the media is there? What are they going to do besides make a sensation of it? De Gea fouled twice, Stoke players handling the ball twice. No fouls or penalties given. Both managers should feel a little bit hard done by, Dalglish perhaps more so because of the impact of such decisions.
The best way to protect a goalkeeper is to leave him on the bench and play an extra outfield player, ffs goalkeepers know the risks they face and most dont need their manager telling the referee to give his keeper extra protection like he deserves it more than the opposition keeper. all keepers should be protected within the laws of the game, dont forget some keepers namely johnny Thompson have died on the pitch for their teams cause, and thats one death to many.
Well he did imply a conspiracy, when he insisted that decisions had gone against you in every game, with none going in your favour. This wasn't true, due to the offside opening goal against Arsenal at least. Certainly, his comments would place heavy pressure on the referee for your next match. If he really wanted to deal with it in a way which wouldn't pressurize officials, he could simply have said that he didn't wish to discuss the issue.
I've never seen footage of that incident, but Petr Cech's collision with Hunt's knee was compared to that incident and was said to be very similar. Was horrible just seeing that one.
Admittedly I don't entirely agree with him on this one. If I were to defend him I'd say maybe he didn't think that there was even an issue with the goal. He probably exaggerated, as you tend to do when you're annoyed, because I can't recall anything in the Bolton game either. He can feel a little bit aggrieved at the Stoke game and the Sunderland game, but not the others. These weren't errors like a wrongly awarded yellow card, or giving a goal kick instead of a corner, but errors that arguably influenced the result directly. He has come out and said he isn't looking for any kind of preferential treatment, just a level playing field. Refs are under pressure to perform their job anyway, so one manager's comments won't matter much to them. Next weekend another ref will more than likely get something wrong, and the debate will be refocussed.
