Not available in tins, so far as I know. A truly horrible foodstuff anyway, have you seen eels? Basically a snake that lives under water, why the **** would you eat that? And what actually is the jelly bit? I get the dry heaves if a pork pie has too much jelly in, but eels ffs? <shudder>

My Nan liked them though. In little polystyrene tubs from the fishmonger, when fishmongers existed.

Also, who the **** eats whelks? Nasty little rubber creatures with tiny arseholes full of sand. **** that. Thank god for immigration, so I don’t have to eat British food every day.

Egg and bacon are good though, obvs.

Probably only ate both back in the day to ward off scurvy. Grubby East End tramps.

I haven’t had corned beef hash for donkeys, that stuff really sticks to your ribs on a cold day. Or it did in the 1970s, when we ate it during power cuts while watching Jimmy Saville on TOTPs

The good old days where people were forced something I wouldn't give to a dog and the TV was full of sexual predators.

They love that stuff in South Wales, all the bakeries do CB pie and pasties we also have Rissoles which is corned beef, potato and onion rolled in breadcrumb and deep fried, they do them in chippys.

It wasn’t all bad mate. Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, mini-skirts and hotpants, Oxford bags and platform wedges (**** for running away from skinheads in). Full employment, socialism, best summer in British history. Saints won the FA Cup. QPR were quite good back then too iirc.

Also Black Forest Gateaux, and holidays in Benidorm for the first time.

Do like a decent black forest gateaux, don't see them about much :( and QPR weren't to bad by all accounts...

However The Osmonds, the Partridge Family, pretty much all disco music, Kiss, Foreigner (no Si the band don't get excited), Emerson, Lake and especially ****ing Palmer... the list goes on
