IMO the window favours us. We have a non-negotiable deadline to stop clubs messing us about and it weakens the argument that foreign clubs can't sell us their player because they don't have time to replace them. If we go for a foreign player and their club stands in the way of the move they know even after moving to us is no longer possible they'll still have options to force a move somewhere else, but probably for a lot less money. So don't annoy your player and lose money just sell to us early.
Both of which could have completed their dealings already. I don't think they have finished but they've both spent
Our weakness is teams that sit back with everyone behind the ball defending and giving no space. Coutinho's strength is finding space where there is none and does well when teams don't press and give him time on the ball. If we had Coutinho it would be a lot more dangerous to sit back and wait for us to come at them. That said, my concerns are more of a non-footballing matter. Footballers don't like getting their pay cut and Coutinho makes more than many more integral members of our squad. Does everyone get a pay raise, or will we upset some people? I don't care so much that he left us looking for greener pastures... That's what footballers do. I do worry his income may upset the balance and harmony of the team however. On the field though he is EXACTLY what we have been missing and would have been enough imo to put us ahead of City last season.
To me it's on Klopps head. If he can bring Coutinho back, make the team still work and not be disrupted... I'm all for it... Hail to the Klopp. If Klopp doesn't want Coutinho back... Don't bring him back. If Klopp brings back and it causes a revolution in the club and the team backslides into United levels of ineptitude then #kloppout
Everton sell 20 year old lookman who has looked encouraging when played and instead sign 29 year old delph. Building for the future there
We need a playmaker and a midfield 'hard man'. It could maybe be one and the same player. Coutinho is one but not the other.
Not often I wade into stuff like this but from last year’s efforts the English teams did okay so don’t think it really effected any of them
It didn’t affect us last year to be fair.....but can’t recall it being a summer when the big boys were spending like this year. Perfect timing for us I guess. Klopp is on record saying being out of sync is a stupid idea....why wouldn’t he want as long as possible to run his eye over his squad and buy if required....or be in the market if a player unexpectedly becomes available.
From what I’ve read klopp and most managers agree window should be shut before season starts. Just problem is seasons start at diff times in Europe.
Has Mito really left ? Or just gone on hol Couldn’t tell if you were all messing but not seen him since Seemed out of character In case you hadn’t noticed I worry and he seemed like a nice person ?
No clue. I only caught the tail end of whatever was going on. I assumed it was a joke but don't know. Mito is a good one and I hope he was just having a lark and not really angry.
