Terrible cricket from Joe Root of all people. Slashes wildly at 2 in succession, caught behind off the second.

Never mind, Lewis Hamilton wins his 6th British GP in front of 140,000 people after a luckily timed pit-stop while the safety car was out during retrieval of a beached car. Vettel loses it again, crashing into the back of Verstappen for no apparent reason, finishing last with a 10 second penalty for causing a collision. Verstappen's promising race is ruined as he finishes 5th.

Jofra Archer put on the pressure spot...I'm not sure if he knew what was going on during that super over.....I expect it will be a long time before us peasants will see another live game.

Both sides scored 15 runs in their super over....not sure how England's 15 won it and NZ's 15 lost it ?

It seems that England won because they scored more boundaries.

I have to say that was the weirdest game of cricket I have ever seen anywhere. Catches ball and steps on boundary for a 6 then Stokes dives to get in and the ball hits his bat again and goes for 4 but 6 runs are given. Never seen that one before. Just bizarre is all I can say. England should have won that at a canter but obviously the nerves got to the batsmen and they threw their wickets away mostly. How unlike Root that was. Not sure even now how we won that but will take it nevertheless. As for Hamilton. Personally I find it hard to get excited about formula 1 as it is just cars going past very fast and as a spectator sport is almost pointless. No such thing as a fluky win though especially if beating a German. Schumaker was a right cheating git who would do anything to beat an opponent. If the German's get it up em now then it's his fault in the first place.

You are completely wrong about F1 although you do I suppose to have an interest in the engineering. If you've never been and only seen it on TV, then you have no idea at all how fast it actually is or how noisy. It's said that at the apex of some corners, despite the huge sticky tyres, you could spin an F1 car around with one finger it's so close to the limit of adhesion. It may look easy but how the drivers get that close to the edge, lap after lap, without going off is a complete mystery. After 3.6 mile qualifying laps on Saturday, the 2 Mercedes cars were separated by 3 milliseconds which shows how how close to the limit both drivers had got. And I must say, the cameraderie between the fans is at a different level to any other sport.

Got no problem with people liking F1 notdistant but I still don't get watching cars go past in a blink and it being a spectator sport. I am not into cars of any description so I guess I would never get it. Also don't dispute the skill the drivers have. I would never go to a race no matter what so only ever likely to see it on TV. It does seem though as if one team is so dominant for a period of time that the rest almost waste their time turning up. Hamilton would not win driving any of the the cars so a lot of the skill is down to the level of car he has.

Interesting that Salford City have come in for Kyle Letheren and given him a 12 month contract.
Letheren had been offered a contract at Argyle....but when Ryan Lowe arrived he withdrew that offer....be interesting to see if he gets much playing time at high flying Salford and will this in some way come back and bite us.....I still think he could have done a job for us....the defence were more confident with him in goal than Matt Macy....certainly a better organizer....yet Arsenal seem to be making Macy their third choice keeper in the Premiership ?

Whispers that WBA keeper Alex Palmer is being talked about as a possible loan.....22 yrs old ....6ft 3in tall only subbed once for Albion as yet....has been out on loan a few times.
Does that mean the present trialist isn't being kept ?

    Further top quality rumours

Plymouth Argyle are set to announce the signing of Jon McLaughlin from Sunderland on a three-year deal, according to sources close to the player

And I'm the King of Siam

Bolton Wanderers are set to announce the signing of Luke Jephcott from Plymouth Argyle, according to a local newspaper

Not if he was watched at Plymouth Parkway, where he got 5/10

Rotherham United are set to announce the signing of Lionel Ainsworth from Plymouth Argyle on a three-year deal, reports the local press

Do we have a Lionel Ainsworth?

Barnsley's Cauley Woodrow is about to sign for Plymouth Argyle on a two-year deal, according to sources close to the player

Seems unlikely as he signed a 3 year contract with Barnsley in May

On a more factual note, worries have begun to surface about our signing of Danny Mayor. As someone put it, this lad really need to work on his tap-ins.

Probably take preference over the younger Michael Cooper....whose time will come.

Has The trialist left....have I missed that or hasn't it been announced yet.

Ryan Lowe confirmed that Will Aimson, Callum Dyson and Ryan Law will miss the Spain training camp.

We know that Will Aimson is still recovering from an injury from last season...and he was recently given an injection to help his recovery....so he is left behind to continue recovering at Home Park.

Callum Dyson might not be in Lowe's plans....he certainly wasn't in Adams plans either....but he has a year left on his contract.

Not sure about Ryan Law...is he injured or surplus to requirements ?....he was offered a new contract which he signed.

There are other injured players going to Spain....Mayor, Telford and Taylor ( who tweaked his ankle playing head tennis ?) all have problems but will be going.
