If you had a dozen tries you could not have written the script for that game and would not have come close to the ending. Have to say it was the weirdest result I've seen in years. England were not strictly the best team on the day in my opinion and rode a whole heap of luck to win in the end. But, having smashed the Aussies into the ground in the previous maybe we just deserved the luck we got. I honestly thought we had lost the game on at least a half dozen occasions today. If football was like that I don't think my ticker could stand it.
While Stokes and Butler were at the crease I thought we were in with a shout but when Butler went I thought we would come up short but what an innings from Stokes
Should we give the cup to NZ? Seems like we were given 1 too many runs for that near run out. Good job there was no VAR
I read that rule thing yesterday on some news site. There are two ways you can interpret the "act". One is when the fielder throws it in that the "act" has begun and the other is the "act" of it striking the bat. The NZ players made nothing of it and are still making nothing of it. Feck the rest of them we have possession and that's apparently 9/10ths of the law.
To be fair Ron I would have preferred it to have been the Aussies who got stuffed rather than New Zealand. Somehow it would have just seemed sweeter. Mind you them not getting to the final was reward in itself.
