Can’t see us getting that much , we’d be lucky to get that if he’d signed a new deal, but with only a year left on his contract £5-£6m with decent sell on clause would be about right.

Maybe a bit ambitious but I genuinley think he is worth more than £6m to us.

when we kick off our first game AND HE IS ON OUR BOOKS he is likely worth nothing, in fact likely to cost us money … January he can sign a contract for "free" and leave next July ...

If he doesn’t sign a contract we would be better off selling now rather than allowing his contract to run out and getting nothing , potential buyers are aware of that which makes it a buyers market, that’s why I suggested £5m-£6m, especially if we can incorporate a good sell on clause, at least then, hopefully, we will benefit from the low sell when he next moves .

He has a 'bit' of an injury record as well, he has missed quite a bit of the last 2 campaigns, so clubs will factor that in with any bid I would have thought. If we get £8m for an injury-prone player that wants to leave, then that's not too bad.

This feels like an agent engineered move, trying to find a buyer for his client. I'm not convinced this move makes sense for us at the price being circulated and I suspect if we ended our interest the news story would substitute in Huddersfield or Derby and repeat.
