FRIENDS DONT ASK 50/1 Southwell 9.00

A real longshot so no big outlay required. The reasons for giving it a chance?
Dam is unraced but a half sister to six middle distance winners on the flat and a winning hurdler.
    Yard is in decent form.
Trainer's only bumper runner here in the last five years won.
    Eyecatching jockey booking.

    Everything crossed.

Connections money hopefully. Ticks a few boxes but needs a few to falter.
    Good luck if you play.

Thanks. I will have a small play at those numbers, along with the Dalgleish horse.

Lieutenant Henderson had a very, very, very interesting one entered in this heat but didn’t declare it yesterday. That will certainly make it easier for your gelding! The very best of luck to the old boy though.

For a McManus purchase I see that the favourite (or joint in some books) was comparatively cheap - £16k.

    Afternoon All

Had a look last night at the Prescott horse in the last at Bath, but it was 9/4 and I thought that was a bit short even with the stable coming into form. I had a look again 5 minutes ago and saw it's drifted to 5/1! I should back it, as that's probably a bit big - but the KonTiki-like drift is also off-putting. Never simple to have a punt is it?

I say, old boy, most distressing. If behaviour happens like this at God’s own racecourse then what hope is there for the other tracks. A sad day for horse racing.

It says a lot about society though that all that happens when individuals behave in this manner is that they get a warning that they will be ejected if it continues. If I was running for PM then I’d be promising no warning, the Police escorting them off the racecourse and that followed by a lengthy spell in the ‘big house’.

Re God’s own racecourse, incidentally, they race again this Sunday and there is a most interesting entry. Black Anthem won at the weekend over hurdles (I take it the regular readers are still ebullient) and the Good Doctor now has prescribed an entry over fences. He’d go off the same mark of 86 that he ran off at the weekend and looks standout once again.

They had this one in the Newmarket Horses in Training Sale last week but then took it out. Was that a result of it suddenly showing them something at home?!? I don’t know.

Personally, I always like to catch horses like this from the Prescott barn on their handicap bow (this is The Game Is On’s 2nd handicap) but today, despite the drift, is the first time the old boy has ever been in single figures, in the market, so perhaps that says he’s more ‘expected’ today. But again am only guessing.

Taken out this morn. Newton Abbot, on Sunday, is his only current entry at the moment.

Interesting, I’ll be at sunny Stratford so it’s a shame he is heading south

Interesting as the Blake barn have got a couple entered at that meet. Iniesta (quite possibly the best bred horse in training. And no I’m not being flippant) and Doubly Clever (going for back-to-back selling hurdling victories following his win on Ascot Wednesday).

66/1 with Bet365 and Bet Victor..so doesn't sound like that much money is coming for it. Worth a punt at that price though.. :emoticon-0148-yes:
