I would suggest that CA is greatly concerned about his short-term future, as a pro-footballer, along the lines (as your last sentence in point 1) of where he lives/plays etc. that suits him & his young family.
Also, consider your second point; that after his football career, for the remainder of his working life (some 30-odd years!) his "income stream" will (more than likely) be hugely reduced.

I think a sensible entrepreneur that made his own money from his own business would.

Not wanting to generalise, but I feel that a young (at 30 he is young in future employment terms) footballer may have earned millions over the last few years, but I bet they have spent it too and have the type of lifestyle that needs a constant income stream.

He may be good at football and have earned loads from it, but that doesn’t mean he is any good with money.

Though, at the end of the day, it is his problem if he has wasted away the millions given to him.

It’s not that easy to defend against. If they stand slightly to his left they leave an even easier shot to the right. The natural thing is for the defender to sweep across (one way or the other) to block a shot but if Che spots that he then plays behind them as their momentum is already carrying them in the other direction. The only foolproof solution is to double or triple mark him which leaves others free to come into play.

Lets not go into Saints Web territory ( they are bashing him on there).
Its been said a fair bit about contracts working both ways etc and it is his right to see it out.

He's never treated us badly and tried to put a shift in when called upon. I also know he's been asked to play when carrying injury due to the debacles with our other strikers. I'm not making excuses but will defend him at the moment.

Sadly Charlie looks an ideal candidate for bankruptcy a few years after retiring. Liking the gee gees is rarely an indicator of financial rectitude. I'd be squirrelling it away for a rainy day if I was his wife.

Not aimed at you at all Fats.
I ALMOST signed up to saintsweb just so I could give them a gob full but couldn’t be arsed in the end.
I thought I’d air my thoughts on here instead.

So I think fans can't have it both ways, in that they're pissed off when players break contracts and leave, often with a payoff as they technically never asked to leave.

Similarly fans can't moan if players refuse to leave just because we don't want them.

I'd never leave a job on good money if my company wanted me gone. Id sit on my arse until they paid me to go or until it suited me. In fact I've just done exactly this over the last 2 months and started my new job a couple of weeks back.

It certainly won't be a nice situation for Charlie to be in knowing we don't want him so don't blame him. He is however sitting pretty just now and comforted by his wage.

A lot if the bad blood towards Austin is more to do with what a prat he was on social media a few weeks ago, and his perceived unprofessional attitude .. not too many fans have forgiven him.

What I liked about his goal was that he took it early with little back lift. The best strikers do this - Harry Kane is a prime example.

Charlie hasn't done himself much good by all accounts by some of things he has been reported as saying. I don't think he has been left behind for nowt. If he doesn't make the team at all this year he is not going to command the signing on fee he thinks he will get as a free agent. Unless he thinks that Saints will offer him a new contract.?? Cant see it myself..........

Makes it harder to have any sympathy when he doesn’t want to move.

He doesn't seem to have the desire or mental ability to look after his career. He'd sooner cash in on one year, and be everybody's last choice when he's a free agent. Very sad.
Really hope we don't have his disruptive tweets throughout the season though.
