I haven't looked it up, but I'd bet they've never had 55,000 at a home match.
Yes, they've got history, tradition, past success from decades ago as one of the 'big' Lancashire clubs.
We had been utterly starved of success, for decades, and suffered from poor ownership time after time. We became a joke club, with **** support.
Pearson was a catalyst for rebuilding the club. Finally we were no longer a joke. Kids finally wanted to have a City shirt, and were proud to wear one. Adults, families were finally once again attracted to attend.
Duffen / Bartlett made mistakes for sure, but they achieved what most thought would never happen. And, whatever his faults, Duffen also (like Pearson) understood football and us fans, the importance of building relationships, etc.
We didn't have Burnley's proud history and tradition, but we were finally building our own. No reason on Earth why we shouldn't have become a much bigger club than them.
But then the Allam ****s came along, and have now pretty much destroyed what was built during 'the decade' and a bit.
    Hence, no credit, only disgust.

Agree with a lot of that. Up to the KC opening the most we had won was the old 3rd div title in 65/66. We were starved of success for generation after generation and I have been banging this drum most of my life that I don't think there are many clubs in the country who could call on the crowds we attracted with a track record like ours. Our trophy cabinet at Boothferry Park had a tea service in in it given to us by Stoke in 71, the air arrow trophy, a football from a game v Burnley in 1930 and a load of dead wasps and flies. The Allam reign has put more silverware in that cabinet then all the other previous owners added together. However it is bordering on the criminal that we, as a club, failed to build on our time and the cash generated during our brief spells in the Premier League. Clubs like Burnley did.
Turf Moor has never had 55,000 people in it but they do attract a steady crowd, amazing for the size of the town, and the attractions of the much bigger Premier League clubs a few miles down the road. Off the field they have a community programme that involves every young person in the area. They are brought up the Burnley way.
We have the potential but Burnley have the tradition.
We could learn a lot from them.

They did have 54,755. Which for the size of the town is amazing and equated to about 150-200,000 being at a City game at the time. They also had over 52,000 at a game as late as the 1960s. In the list of record crowds Burnley are one place behind us. Though record crowds don’t necessarily show the size of the club as that would mean Charlton are bigger than Arsenal and Bolton and Huddersfield are far bigger than Liverpool.

    John Percy @JPercyTelegraph
Can confirm Harry Maguire has told #lcfc management and players he wants to pursue a move to #mufc or #mcfc if the valuation (£80m-£90m) is met. Leicester expect him to be professional if a move doesn’t materialise before the transfer deadline.

    John Percy @JPercyTelegraph
It also has be stressed this wasn’t a formal transfer request and #lcfc have promised not to stand in his way if the valuation is met.

What I was getting at BBB was that they were promoted on a budget at a similar time to us, similar attendances and at the time stature.. they were relegated along with us, went back up with us and yet they sustained it, built and amazing training facility, have money in the bank and sold and bought well... there they comparison ends.. that could have been HCAFC .
