I also think he will stay. Man City (sensibly) won’t pay and honestly Man Utd are such a shambles you’ve got to ask if it’s a good career move. He is England’s number 1 defender and at a club with a massive buzz about being on the up

If I was Maguire I would give us another year and then make a decision next year on if moving is actually the best thing for him or is he best staying here long term

I’d go to Man City if that was an option but otherwise I would also stay and see what unfolds this year.

Agree with the point about weakening our hand. Regarding the cost of replacement, whilst normally that’d probably be true, in this scenario I imagine any club we approach for a CB will know full well we must have agreed with Man Utd to see to even be interested so it’ll be implied we have the money.

Apparently Louis Dunk has 'got his heart set on Leicester' - apparently Man Utd are going to bow down to our demands for Maguire and he wants it to be known that he is very willing to join us.

We are linked with 17yo midfielder Charlie Allen from Linfield - the kid is tipped to be the next big thing.

    Merc are saying about Dunk

As for Maguire depends who you believe.

He is either there number 1 target and want to sell Lukaku to fund the move or they wont over pay and set to go after cheaper targets

Will be interesting to see what Man City do with Ake - sign him and they won’t go for Maguire or is it a smoke screen to try and force our hand or Maguire to force a move. Personally think Ake would be a waste of money for them - just play Stones, same ability.

Chelsea actually hold the cards with Ake as they have a buy back clause. They can activate in now and loan him back to Bournemouth

Chelsea can still buy players just cant register new players.

Really? That defeats the object of the ban and their reason for it imo. Sure they can’t strengthen the side for this season but wasn’t the bad for signing loads of youngster so effectively they can still do that?

Think Ake is a great player, if he was the replacement for Maguire wouldn't mind at all.

They have signed Kovacic as they didnt need to register him. They turned down the chance to sign Higuian

Numerous reports tonight saying Maguire has told Leicester that he wants to move
If we get 75-80m for him it would be ridiculous lol

According to the sun. Maguire isnt happy we want so much money for him

Tough ****. Mahrez did the same. He signed a long term contract last year knowing it will increase not only his pay packet but also his transfer value

We own his contract for another 4 years so we call the shots. If Man U want Maguire on the cheap then they can have him for free in 4 years

Atm I would think these stories of him trying to force a move are due to the gutter press acting as Man Utd’s puppets and trying to put pressure on us. It’s pure desperation. There’s nothing solid atm from reliable sources to suggest Maguire isn’t content to stay (not to say he wouldn’t go if we accept a bid).

My take based on reports is Maguire like to go but if he has to stay then he will get on with it

If Man U make a serious bid and we reject it that could chance

Once they bid £80M+. Thats when we will have something to think about

Rumour is that Maguire has handed in a transfer request - Man Utd are linked with other CBs like Benoit Badiashile and Nikola Milenkovic and apparently this has put smoke up his ass.

On another note, if we do get rid of Maguire then Badiashile would be a very good replacement...

Newcastle are interested in Rachid Ghezzal - we want around £8m for him which is the sticking point.

Nobody is interested in Matty James on a permanent transfer - he is on Premier League wages and no club is willing to risk it with his injury record. Only rumours of loans I can find so far are from League 1.

No one seems to be interested in both King or Mendy atm either - no rumours about them either leaving or staying as part of the squad.

I wouldnt be too fussed if Maguire goes. It wont hurt nowhere near as much as when Kante and Mahrez left

As I and us all said. Given the choice we would rather see Tielemans sign then Maguire stay

If he wants to go though then we need to get him out the door. Obviously dont push him out as it weakens our hand against Man U but we are onto something and dont need someone sulking or not wanting to be part of it
