That Crouchy thing! I did remember him for being stuck in the Saints reserves yet being far and away the best player on the pitch during a 2nd 11 game. But my memory these days is him coming on as a substitute for Stoke City. He proceeded to upend Matt Targett for no apparent reason, for which he was yellow carded. Then about two minutes later he felled Steve Davis with a lunging tackle right on the knee. Got a red for that, and he waved it off as if he didn't give a ****. However, we beat Stoke 3-2 on a windy night at their place, with Graziano scoring 2 and Shane getting the other. And that's the real memory.
The strange thing for me is, I remember him more fondly for England than I do Saints. And that's not the case with any other player.
Thats Gallagher officially gone now for an undisclosed fee. Thanks and good luck Sam! https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/...ZLnf3vG6kLOiMA4gJ3o5Vn6RLkAAn18s5LJD4ias9x_oE
Wonder if he will be allowed to play for the Sweaties or has that ship sailed with him choosing England at youth level?
" Charlie Austin has snubbed a move to West Brom in a bid to see out his contract at Southampton. The striker wants to stay and fight for his place in the team and also knows he’ll be in pole position to negotiate a lucrative signing on fee and contract next summer. "
What tom said. He is well within his rights to see out his contract. Calling him a "fat prick" is a bit much imo
You’re a referee, so we wouldn’t expect you to understand the joy of actually playing the beautiful game, no matter what division you’re in.
Of course he is - doesn't stop him being an idiot for turning it down, though. He won't get a look in next season, so by the time next summer comes around, he won't have played any decent football for a year - what club will want him then?
You know he might have turned down West Brom solely because he doesn't want to drop down a division don't you? He might be keen on a move to another PL team.
