I was kicked off your board for commenting on the thread topic, McCririck. I said he was a fake pretending to be an eccentric. Despite some of you lot saying far worse it was me who was banned ... ... now that's double standards.
****ing hell, you just keep digging don't ya? You have no idea about me yet you call me witless.....you really do have no idea about me. Crack on fella.
Apparently Bruce has taken training at Sheff Wed this morning, hopefully that means he doesn't like what's been offered to him....or he's simply fulfilling his contractual obligations until such time as things move on. Not the way we should be heading into pre-season but never a dull moment at our place is there?
All available evidence points that what tbf. Your attenpts at humour are so bad you have to plaster your posts in smileys ... ... the only laughs you ever get.
I kinda want to stop responding to you but you keep providing me with ammo so I'm finding it really difficult. You seem to have now resorted to pettiness which I find odd as I thought I was the pathetic one, pot-kettle springs to mind. Have a nice weekend.
Looks like a done deal to me. We know where the percentages are, though. You and Ashley win if SB comes in and does a good job. I'd say 20% chance. We win if SB ****s up and you go down. Maybe a smidge higher at 25%, bearing in mind he'll be short-changed on funds. You lose and we lose if he does an o.k. job and you have a dodgy season, but ultimately avoid relegation & finish 10th-17th. That scenario is (a) more like 50% and (b) one in which Ashley wins. Again. Fans have a 20-25% chance of this ending well. Ashley's 70%+. The git is far from stoopid...
He's on a hiding to nowt and absolutely nobody could blame him if he took the job if offered it. I just hope he doesn't come out with all the bollocks about being a geordie, always wanted to manage us yada yada yada. He's turned us down at least once so he can **** off with that. Just come in, do the job and lets see where we end up. There's nee point us whingeing about it, we have **** all control over it and nowt we do will change it or change the fat man's approach so we just have to support the bloke in the job, regardless of how fit we think he is for it. We might get a pleasant surprise, us and him might just be the perfect fit. I still wouldn't be happy with it but the fat controller ain't gonna stop me supporting my team !
Bruce isn't so much outright bad as just not particularly brilliant, but he should have enough smarts to keep you up. Whether it's worth watching is another matter.
It says more about my opinion of Benitez than it does my opinion on Bruce but I expect that if Bruce goes there the football will be better. I didn't see any of their games but from what I gather they did alright when they attacked and Bruce would provide that at least. This is assuming all their best players don't sod off though.
Basically aye, but with one slight caveat. I could never see Almiron signing for Steve Bruce, he probably hasn't even got a clue who he is. That's the issue for me. I'm not expecting marquee signings by any stretch of the imagination, just some key quality acquisitions to allow us to compete with the teams around us. Right now we're down Rondon, Diame and Perez have gone, Kenedy has gone home (thank ****). Hayden is likely to follow suit so there's 4 players we need to replace straight away just to stand still. At least with Rafa you always felt we had that extra pull which we've now lost. Money talks at the end of the day and we are still an attractive team and place to come and play but I'm not expecting Stevie (should he come in) to be given any different tools to those that Rafa had at his disposal. If he doesn't bring Cattermole in I'll be a happy man!
See what you're saying. Although Bruce managed to get Bent, Gyan, Cana, Sessegnon, Mensah to sign for us. Not forgetting Christophe Dugarry for Birmingham City! So it might not be as bad as you fear. I reckon you're odds on to sign Cattermole now! Enjoy that.
Bruce certainly could at times put a good team together, and play some good football, but he couldn't do it consistently. He's like James McAvoy in Split, except he's got 23 personalities, only one or two of which are good football managers.
Been on a walk today from Wookey Hole to the Cheddar George, just walked into the Bath Arms and spotted a lad with a Sunderland pin badge. First topic of conversation was Bruce This fella works at a local quarry, lives in Cheddar and reckon there's a dozen other Sunderland who get together to watch the games and go to matches at Bristol, etc. He says word round the campfire is that the Sheff Wed owner fancies a game of poker with Ashley and isn't blinking over the £5 million compensation. Interesting ... Ashley likes to play the game but, as Staveley found out he's always liable to turn the table over and storm off. If he does it's Moyes next up .....
To be fair to Brucie, he did go after and was near to signing Salvador Cabanas the best south american midfield player of his generation, and signed Asamoah Gyan one of my favourite players ever, so he does deal a gem or two.
