Good point , I’d forgotten about him , we don’t want to block him , but I’m not sure he’s ready to be more than an impact player.

Britt Assombalonga would be ideal for Bristol City and give Robins an x-factor Michelle Owen on the latest happenings concerning Ashton Gate https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ritt-assombalonga-would-ideal-bristol-3084439
I’m not convinced, he had 13 goals from 41 apps last season, and 15 from 44 apps the previous season, not exactly a £10-15m striker in my book. That’s no better than Fammy! I’d rather we spent that trying to loan in either Tammy or Dwight Gayle for the season, who are proven 20+ strikers in this division.
Celtic face competition from Cardiff City and Bristol City to sign Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga this summer. https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-celtic-in-hunt-with-cardiff-bristol-city-to-sign-acon-striker/
You do realise he’s reported to be on 55k wages, which was one of the things that proved a stumbling block in January when we looked into a possible buy or loan.
He is not worth that wage for me, move on. There has to be a better option at £10-15 mil and £55k a week wages, there just has to be!
Day 68 The Sun reporting we are leading the race for Nketiah on loan. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9501819/arsenal-eddie-nketiah-loan-bristol-city/
I have a good feeling about this lad , assombolonga is not the answer in my view, his wages are too high , and just doesn’t feel really right. I may be biased , but i believe we are buildng a reputation as being a good place for Premier league clubs to send their players on loan , also the balance of Fam , Nketiah and Semenyo seems good, I hope we get him.
Diedhiou looked like he’s been training more on his role this close season. He did look a handful in the game last night. Just noticed on OTIB, that someone has looked into Assombalonga and he’s never scored more than 15 a season in the championship.
Fam is not as bad as some would have it, his goals per game record is pretty good, we need more goals from the rest of the team on my view, we don’t score enough from midfield to supplement him. I also feel last season we had no alternative which meant he has to play too many minutes.
