The frustrating thing about this is that there’s such a simple ****ing fix. It’s 2 months too late now cos Rafa’s gone and he knew it was happening long before it did.

I get that he’s a very successful businessman but he could be doing a hell of a lot better with us than he is just by doing the basics and doing them well.

    You cannot reason with stupid.

His time is up. He's had chance after chance. He needs to go this season. Whatever it takes.

Only club around that won't pay any fee for a player over 28...

But will pay 6m for a fat, 60 year old drinking machine

I mean, any smart club would have taken the initiative and given Rafa an ultimatum weeks ago.

No multi million pound business can sit around waiting on one person, we should have had it done and dusted and a replacement ready as soon as Rafa's contract ended. Instead, here we are.

Honestly I'm not on board with the whole Rafa was a messiah bandwagon, I think we were OK with him. I think we are overly negative about the squad.

It's just ****ing beggars belief how we are so poorly operated, I am absolutely bemused by the levels of incompetence.

God help Charnley's lass. Lying in the bed in her best Ann Summers effort and Charnley probably needs a month to figure out how to respond.

I agree, only a few weeks ago was wondering why Rafa's contract ran till the end of June and not the season so as to have someone in place,13th of July and a month away from KO and no manager.

I think most football contracts run until the end of June, players and managers. I remember Owen claiming and extra month’s wages after his contract had expired at end of June as he hadn’t fixed up with a new Club by then.

Is it ? Ok, sounds odd though when Rafa and Ashley knew he wasn't signing a new contract in May IMHO hence the speedy new role in China.

The speed in which that chinese club signed up Rafa should have mirrored our rapid managerial signing.

should have been seamless, one out one in.

Well, I suppose absolutely nothing happening is seamless enough for Newcastle.

I've never understood the Rafa love in. For all the players he "improved " there's similar numbers of good players /prospects his imposed tactics have ended up on a downward spiral because of the way he has or hasn't used them. I would suggest that if it is Steve Bruce that becomes our manager the said players will feel more wanted and their skills utilised.
Imagine how the players feel if the manager consistently infers they're not good enough. I fully understand the club is in turmoil and has been for some time under the stewardship of Ashley, however the loss of Benitez is not the wailing, gnashing of teeth and pass me the rope scenario the bulk of Newcastle fans think it is.

100% this. I think I will go one step further and suggest the narrative we are a "Championship side punching above our weight" is one created by Rafa.

prior to that I had absolutely no idea that was the case, yes they were relegated with McClaren, but McClaren clearly isn't a premier league or even championship quality manager. When Rafa signed we improved and probably would have stayed up if he was given a few more games. The squad was fine, in fact, it still is. We just need some additions.

Then our first season back up, sure we missed a striker (as we do now) but Rafa's signing (Joselu) was abysmal, far inferior than the player he forced out in Mitrovic. I am almost certain that if Joselu wasn't Spanish he'd be nowhere near this football club. I distinctly remember my Liverpool fan family members complaining that Rafa overly signed Spanish players.

He's a good manager, he did as I expect a Newcastle manager to do, get us promoted and keep us midtable. Do i enjoy him consistently insinuating the players who work hard for my football club are crap? Do I think forcing out Mitro and attempting to get rid of Richie are smart moves? no.

I'll look back fondly on the Rafa era, but I think a wee bit of brainwashing and sheep mentality has taken place in the stands. He didn't do much really.

First para happens with all managers.

Second para all depends upon who the new manager is. If it is Bruce that is a huge step down in quality from Rafa and so, for me, a really, really bad step.

Main thing for me is the slow but gradual decimation of the Club by the idiot we have as an owner. Despite Pouchy’s staunch defence we have the money to improve, although money isn’t the only relevant part of improving, and Cashley is strangling the Club by his policies and actions and inactions. Cashley has to go but I don’t feel he really wants to especially now due to PL Clubs now being able to make a profit. If I wanted to sell something I think I would be able to sell that something in 11 years...if I really wanted to.

I love this. It is hilarious really. Refuse Benitez an increment only to end up paying much much more to get Steve Bruce. It would be sad under anyone else but this serves right MA. Arrogant fat twat.

I can't read this twitter drivel, and The Mag is an embarrassment. Lol "Sky Sports defend Shola and Carver after embarrassing comments."

Well, that's not what happened at all is it. First of all, it's that reporters opinion, using Sky Sports is nothing more than a clickbait, moronic fans who can barely read will now invent a conspiracy that Ashley pays off his billionaire friends.

Shola and Carvers opinion is not embarrassing, it's just an opinion, stop being so ****ing toxic.

I actually feel shame for supporting this club when you link Twatter Albert, looking at how some of these people think makes me cringe.

I mean, we are attacking a support journalist who is far more educated in how the media and the club operates because he's telling us the goings on at the club.

We are essentially attacking these people because it doesn't fit a narrative. Shameful.
