Indeed but this is typical of NUFC blog. There is no context to this at all. You'd have to look at which clubs, support from above, squad inherited, etc etc. I'm not defending him at all because I don't really rate him but you can't compare Bruce and Rafa. One has been at Liverpool and Chelsea. The other has bounced around the likes of Palace, Birmingham, Sunderland, Wigan etc. Completely different ball game. Rafa's stats would look a whole lot different. Just as it would be unfair to compare Rafa's Newcastle record with KK's. Working under completely different constraints. KK had serious money in the context of the time. Pardew and Rafa are probably the only two with comparable records because both have worked under Ashley at his worst for a reasonable period. They have fairly similar records. I'd say both were able to achieve the end goal of survival year on year. Pardew delivered far bigger highs, more attractive football and better players to watch. However we were far better defensively under Rafa and his approach delivered more consistent results. Both deserve credit for keeping this club up under this twat. Overall in the long term if we were actually interested in progressing, Rafa delivered what you'd want most, a solid consistent base to build on. PLus he had a more professional way about him. At the end of the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons I believe he had us nicely positioned to move forward. Both times the club have decided they didn't want to. Even McClaren isn't really comparable as he had quite a bit to spend.
Apparently Newcastle are looking away from Steve Bruce now, the owner of Sheff Weds is just as bad as Ashley, egotistical, power crazy with no sense of reality. He wants somehwere between £5m-£7m this is why Bruce will remain at Wednesday and is continuing to take training. Newcastle players are flying out today with no real manager, no signings and a piss poor squad. Managers left right and centre turning us down, I'm just hoping this ****storm gets a fook load worse forcing ashley into submission
ha ha, ****ing hilarious. There's nee way Bruce has ever been worth £5m let alone £7m in his life. **** right off. Next.........
I'm hoping at least one of them has a decent pre-season and throws a silver lining to the cloud of gloom we are under. Aarons and Murphy always looked like having potential to be exciting on the ball, but for one reason or another just didn't kick on. Of all the "returning" players it's those 2 that I'd suspect have the best chance to do something, especially with Perez leaving one of the attacking roles free...or Muto might take that role?
Not a bad shout that, local lad, knows the club inside out, good with the press, cheap, feck me what am I saying
Good shout when you think about it, ticks a lot of boxes, not least the BME one. I've always said that your more astute than anyone else on here.
Could you say that again. I couldn't quite make out what you were saying with your tongue in your cheek.
Moi, tongue in cheek - never. Mind, I'd have thought you'd have given Clarkie a mention as the Loan Manager's trusty sidekick.
It will be bruce Ashley will be aware the fans dont want him, so he will pretend we are getting someone even worse , so that we are thankful for bruce
Ashley having an insurance bet. The more and more I think about it the more I want Bruce now. It's about the 3rd ****ing time he's been linked with us and he's turned us down at least once. Lets just get it ****ing over with so we can move on I say. If he does a cracking job it's a bonus, if it all turns to **** we can all say we called it !!
