... need to be reined in. They rip off their customers who are making the largest single investment of their lives - it really shouldn't be such a gamble.

Please spread far and wide - it will protect you and your families. Thanks.

Signing this not only protects your rights, but also the livelihoods of tradespeople, like brickies, joiners, roofers, etc. Create proper training needs for a building industry who currently employs cowboys (and girls ). It makes sense on every level.

Done, fed up with builders arriving at 4pm on a Friday dumping their tools asking for tea and £3000 in cash.

Done. We used a building firm 10 years ago some of it was good and some of it downright bloody awful.

    Signed.

Yes I know! Ive employed reputable builders (and don't mind how much tea I have to make them) who are professional but they are lots out there who are liable to take you for a ride if your not careful and get recommendations from people they've done work for, PS Im retired now but worked in the building trade all my working life.

You are right to stand your ground.

I'm talking about national house builders (Persimmon are a classic case, although there are lots more)

They build ****, really **** houses. You fight their standards or you sell on to the next sucker.

They rob us, the tax payer and, maybe, definitely, the buyer. If you or or your kids fit the bill think hard and long about the good of this petition . They, the builders, invest next to nothing in future planning; realistic plot size, room proportion, snagging support, quality of warranty, tradesmen up to the job. Quality of build is a joke.

These people pay themselves rude amounts of money. They are a big part of our society. They're not political.

Spread this fundamental objection to a flaw in the interpretation of the law.

It has to start somewhere. No better place than this.

A woman I work with bought a keepmoat home and the quality was shocking .
She's spent a year trying to get it right , took days off waiting for jobs to be done .
    Not turning up etc .
She must have spent at least 3/4 weeks out of the past year with them coming and going .
She even moved out for 2 weeks whilst they ( unsatisfactory ) tried to sort out probs !
It took over her life that much she couldn't sleep and in the end she just gave up for the good of her health

On my phone that link just opens the page to sign rather than the actual petition so I can’t tell what it’s about (so obviously wouldn’t sign something o hadn’t read)
I even tried searching petitions for the number in the link but that threw nothing up either
    Have you got another link?
    Cheers

Likewise, I've no idea what the petition is about either (obviously I can see it's something to do with **** developers, but no detail).

On the flipside, local developer Risby Homes have a great finish and spec in their new houses.

I tried to sign it, but it just keeps telling me I'm using the wrong email address. I only have the one email address.
