Voted Tory all my life until the Brexit fiasco then i voted for them as thousands of Tory's did.

Labour and Tory values are so different, hence i cannot believe people change from one to another as they are so different in the ways.

They are different to each other, but they change too. For example, Tony Blair’s ‘New Labour’ was VERY different to Corbyn’s ‘hard left’ Labour.
Thatcher’s tories were very different to May’s.
That’s why ‘floating’ voters like me change allegiance - and that’s why we see a change of government from time to time - because people don’t always vote the same, regardless.

Well the party does after years now have an unequivocal stance.

Its taken a u turn or some other turn to get there and still Labour have a Leader who believes in leaving the EU but has to publicly support remaining.

This is the biggest issue for decades and Labours leader sincere support of what is now party policy? Who knows.

    uuuuuuuuuuumm
is the "X" for Boris …. or … JEREMY...……………… UUUUUUUUUUUUMM
Boris … down to earth a bit like Whitelaw .. the clever side is always camouflaged likely to be quite strong in the face of adversity ….. Jeremy … been waiting 30 years for this chance, trying to give the right responses to angles of questioning … but the Tuesday debate showed a desperate side … having to use trap door questions in a quest to trip Boris up instead of questions that may have shown a clearer difference between the 2 and which would have provoked an answer [ provoked used in its nicer terminology, not as in aggressive ]…

uuuuuuum maybe in a different situation, like a peaceful calm economy doing well after a few years of Tory government... Jeremy might fit the bill ………!

Hunt was speaking from scrips, and Boris was speaking from the heart.
Very simple choice May mark 11 or Boris.

I believe if he was still a back benched he would be for Brexit with his record not sticking to party lines , now though he has collective responsibility so can’t just go his own way. Trouble is he’s not very good at hiding his feelings, truth be told I think given a choice he’d stay and try to change things from within.

I think you're trying to say, as a leader, he's weak!

I like him , I respect in the past he’s voted in line with his conscience, but I don’t think he’s a strong leader no.

Labour became tired of a leader who was a career politician, someone who could sell sand to the Arabs , they wanted someone completely opposite to Tony Blair .

Unlike others on here I think he’s a good man . Just not a good leader.

Brexit is difficult for anyone to try to lead their party through , the splits run so deep through both main parties.

There's literally not a leader of any party at the moment who isn't weak like that though. Look at the Tories - it doesn't matter who the leader is, they're still just the puppets of the real people who control the party, i.e. those who fund the party in return for policy.

Corbyn is a ****ing useless leader but every leader in recent times has been weak in that respect, so I wouldn't reserve that particular criticism just for Corbyn! They're all the mercy of capitalism in essence.

I agree with you by the way AshtonRed. I think deep down he's actually a decent person, certainly different from the rest of the political class. But he can't get his party to agree on anything, along with the other well-publicised problems, so what's the point?

He is mates with Hamas, Hezbollah, The IRA, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, great bunch of trustworthy folk there, Jeremy Corbyn once wrote that he enjoyed “a takeaway dinner” with Hamas chief Khaled Mahal - and yet he is unwilling to dine with the Queen and President Trump at Buckingham Palace.

    Loathsome, arrogant, treachorous liar.

The Labour Party, or at least Labour MP’s, have become part of the establishment, any move to try to move the party back to where it belongs is met with opposition from the MP’s who see it as being against their interests. That’s how I see it anyway.

I don't question your choice or judgement mate and I have had many nasty arguments and insults on here because various people have tried to deny all of us of our right of entitlements and I have always defended open but fair speech, I find you a very interesting member and enjoy your contributions.

I wasn’t getting at you Wiz, I’m just aware we have different views on this issue I was merely stating mine. I enjoy debate , but on this issue we see things differently and neither of us will change the others view.
I will always respect members even if I profoundly disagree with them, I either debate the issue or avoid commenting on a thread.

The best thing about this forum is whatever different views we hold on differing issues our love of all things City is far stronger.

I just watched the two Tory candidates being interviewed by Andrew Neil, Boris is awful, the scary thing is he’s likely soon to be our PM.

I want to leave because, like it or not that’s what we voted for, but surely to god have we really come to having to put up with Boris , the man is a liability.

It’s red all the way for me, it’s something about the colour surely, if you think about city’s that have a blue and red variety, most of the time it’s the red side that are more successful, Liverpool , Manchester & obviously Bristol to name just three. I’m sure there are exceptions, but on the whole it’s true.
