I watched a very sad TV programme recently, about a 16 year old girl, unfortunately not a head turner, who had given up her A level studies in order to become a 'Social media influencer'. Basically, she seemed to believe that posting hundreds of posed selfies and reviewing make-up would both make her famous and rich. I'm guessing all of this inane and pointless boycott stuff is the work of male equivalents.
Probably one of Pouchy's accounts and/or on the wum but just as a point of interest a) are you happy with the way the Club is being run? b) if not, what are you doing to change things? c) why is a boycott by a significant number of fans of one game (may be more) pointless? d) why is a boycott by a significant number of fans of one game (may be more) inane?
I don't want to get into a back and forth about the way the Club is run, Pouchy's position would be the closest to mine I have seen on here. We ultimately, are customers. It is the product we buy, not the company business model. If you don't like the Coke, buy Pepsi. I have been very unhappy with my purchases for a couple of years. It has been hard to watch. Unlike many, I blame the football management, not the owner. However, he will be gone very soon so that should make you happy. The ease with which anyone can post absolute made up bullshit, which can become 'fact' in an instant (millions of examples - Chelsea want Benitez the one that made me laugh the most), means there is some kind of narrative that fans believe that they should spend the owner's money for him. This is endemic, my local club is the same. As a Southerner, I love the irony of many being desperate for some middle eastern Billionaire to buy the Club and then buy success. We all do inane and pointless things in our lives, currently, I have an ever growing list of American products I am boycotting, but I'm not making a fuss about it. Boycott by all means, we remain, if only briefly, a free country, but please, just do it. I and probably 95% of fans don't give a flying one.
Not. No one is going to stop me from watching my team. Especially not him. Even if it is a farce. After 30 years, I’m used to it
well for the people that still go . 1 don not , cry on etc ,after games or about the fcb . we are sick of hearing about it . you made your choice. 2 its not your team anymore .it is mike ashleys , who is taking the piss out of you ..
1. I don’t cry. I expect a piss poor excuse for a team. It’s a reflection of how the club as whole is run. It’s not a shock. 2. It’s my team. It’s your team. The only ones taking the piss are the attention seeking arsewholes turning on their fellow fans, shout at people’s houses when they aren’t even in, who naively think they’re making a difference
I notice they are "working tirelessly to find alternatives for fans during boycotted games" To that end I have contacted them to offer to help with the following schemes "Come round and do my Garden" "My fence needs painting" "The car needs a good clean this week" The Mrs wanted to add a "I need a good shag while my Husband's away" but I told her that was probably more than they could handle.
