I'm not surprised by what he says...probably what a few players think but don't say when they join Southampton...but I never felt he was that committed whilst here. Only an impression....be glad to hear different from people who saw more of him than me.
I'm willing to cut him some slack really. I suspect that the stomach injury that he had the surgery on last year was debilitating for some time before that. I remember a few games where he seems to be feeling discomfort - OK when running around but feeling it when he stopped. Of course, having gone through that you might think he would feel it was right to change the plans of moving on this year, as we didn't get much value from him. However I can also imagine he would want to move on from a frustrating chapter.
Seems like he had it in good faith that he would only stay two years assuming we make decent money for him, can’t feel too bad about him for that.
I have to admit he was one of my favourites. He was awesome with Pelle at the club. But I saw far too many mistakes from him in his last year with us. Glad he's found his level and deserves his contract extension.
i really hope lemina is sold to man utd asap! what a complete dud of a player. He'd fit in well at utd - they have a whole squad full of lazy and inept footballers that cant be bothered also. i remember garth crooks is a big fan of lemina but wanted him at his arsenal
I don't mind this at all - in fact I prefer a bit of honesty all round. Fair play to him if he sees his fortune and development lying elsewhere then I wish him all the best. I'm not sure I personally agree but that's irrelevant. If we can get our money back (or more) and part on good terms then happy days. I remember thinking he was going to be an absolute monster when he first showed up.
Yes, the desire to leave Saints starts at the point of joining for quite a few players, by the look of quite a few of our signings. That's the trouble when you try to bat above your average, and is why I am not a fan of flashy signings at Saints.
I don't really mind that. Happy for players with bigger aspirations to come here and give us 2/3 solid years which "earns" them the move to one of the big clubs. If we had no players who the top teams wanted then that would be more cause for concern.
Agree with this, but I don't feel he has "earned" his move yet. The correct thing to do would be to give us another season of maximum effort, fulfil his potential and then move IMO. But he is clearly a egotistical knob isn't he. As long a we don't lose too much money, it's all good
Totally agree with this. The slight exception here is that he joined very late in the transfer window so did not have a full pre season with us 2017/18. He got injured before Christmas last season and we hardly saw him again in 2018/19. So We've barely had a year out of him. I wonder if he's disappointed Liverpool have not shown an interest (they were scouting him at Juve before us I think).
If he's just bagged a hat-trick against Burnley, Garth Crooks can try and sell him to Timbuktu Utd for all I care!!
Not got a problem with selling Lemina. He hasn't really done anything for us and we can't have a player that gets to choose how they want to play. Juve were happy to sell him because he was the same there as he was here. One game looking great then the next 10 games doing nothing. Sadly I can see him wasting his talent and being one of many that should have been way better.
He for sure, isn't doing himself any favours at all. Shame really... as he could be as good as Yaya toure if he had the attitude and application.
