    Beware of imitations.
    It's back.

HULL CITY PLAY THEIR FIRST PRE-SEASON CLASH AGAINST LEYTON ORIENT ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND ONE PLAYER WHO IS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THE CLASH IS ERIC LICHAJ.
The Tigers face the League Two outfit at the Marbella Football Center in what is the Club’s first game under the leadership of new Head Coach Grant McCann and full-back Lichaj believes it will be a boost for everyone in the squad to put themselves in a matchday mindset once again.

“Everyone wants to play,” he said. “Personally, I’d rather skip all the training in pre-season and just play games but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.

“You have to have the training in order to play the games. We’ve got two games over here in Marbella – the first of which is against Leyton Orient tomorrow night – and everyone is looking forward to being back out on a pitch.

“It will be good to get the kit back on again. You always look forward to getting back out there and playing games again after time off. As a group, we can’t wait!”

Reflecting on the week-long training camp in Spain itself, Lichaj continued: “Hopefully it will continue to be nice and warm for us over here. It’s usually a lot tougher training-wise when you go abroad and nothing is different here.

“I know it might seem like a bit of a holiday looking in from the outside but I can guarantee that isn’t the case whatsoever.

“We’ll be working hard every single day we’re over here and by the time you’ve had your evening meal, you just want to go to bed and rest up because you know you’ll have another tough day starting the following morning.”

#hcafc play the first of their friendlies against Leyton Orient tonight. By my reckoning 12 of the 24 players at Grant McCann’s disposal are academy graduates

Memberships must be completely sold out by now , surely , especially after all the activity we've had in the transfer market recently.

Surprised he wasn’t asked about any potential signings. Especially as he was expecting 2 to 3 in Marbella- unfortunately he doesn’t know our owners well enough yet <laugh><laugh>

GRANT MCCANN IS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HIS HULL CITY SIDE IN MATCH ACTION FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN THEY FACE LEYTON ORIENT IN A PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY THIS EVENING.
The Tigers are currently away on a training camp in Marbella, with tonight’s game set to be played at the Marbella Football Center (KO 7.30pm), and after just over a fortnight of groundwork McCann feels his players are ready for the next step.

“We played an 11 vs 11 game between ourselves last week with 40 minutes each way, so the lads have had that taste of it and it shouldn’t be abnormal to them when they play 45 minutes each against Leyton Orient and Lincoln Red Imps this week,” said McCann.

“We’ve had a good couple of weeks leading into this third week where we’re stepping up in terms of the games, and it’s good to have that base already. Pre-season games are all about fitness and it’s another training session for us really, especially these early games.

“However, it is important that the boys take on board the principles that we’ve set as well as their roles and responsibilities. The players have been outstanding since day one and have trained with a real intensity and purpose.

“The result is irrelevant in many ways tonight. It’s about making sure we don’t pick up any knocks and that the boys get as much as they can out of the game. There’ll be times when they’re running for the sake of running but that is what we want as they adapt to the way we play.”

McCann is planning to give his players 45 minutes each this evening, although Markus Henriksen, Kamil Grosicki, Jon Toral and Will Mannion won’t be involved in this opening game. A number of the Club’s promising younger players can also expect to play a part.

“We’ll have two 45-minute teams and we’re just looking to get as much out of the game as we can in terms of fitness, intensity, sprints – that is the main focus for us tonight,” added McCann.

“There’s seven of the younger lads that have travelled with us and will play parts in the games this week. That will be good for them to see the environment around the first team, although some of them have had a taste of that already. This will be a chance for them to blend in and understand how we are going to play. It should put them in good stead for the season.”

Yes, though Henriksen was captain last season. Unless Henriksen is scheduled for departure.

They should have kept Campbell and made him Captain.
