It’s the same every year, people get itchy feet if we don’t get a player a day in. It’s July. The season doesn’t start for another month, there will be players coming in. How good they are is a different matter entirely.
We'll buy potential or take cast offs who Terry and darnborough think are worth a second chance. Like Peterborough and Brentford do. I'd like an experienced centre back in but if de Wijs and Burke stay fit they are going to be a bloody good pairing.
Rick summed it up nicely in a tweet this morning, in response to City's tweet about 'a big week in the Tigers’ preparations for the new season'... Rick @HullCityLive Do us a favour. We've seen it for the last two seasons. It's brilliant for the young lads but our "pre-season" will be the first ten league games again. #hcafc
John Percy @JPercyTelegraph Tyrone Mings is travelling to Birmingham tonight after #avfc agreed a £20m fee with #afcb. Huge coup for Dean Smith and Villa chief executive Christian Purslow
That's more like it... "lose out" on signing Wilks for £1.2m, and the back-up plan is a sloth-like winger who got farmed out to Millwall on loan last season and did nothing. Also, didn't we try to get him on loan in January and he chose Millwall over us? "Sorry Grant, we tried, we really did..."
We tend to take players who have a dubious injury record, that way they cost a lot less. Marshall did his ankle ligaments a few years back, so there's no wonder he's an option for us. Hopefully we can sign Tafazolli as cover at CB, though being in 'advanced talks' on Friday and not having signed, coupled with him not being a part of the Marbella trip suggests that ship has sailed.
This twelve year old seems to know what he's on about https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...southampton-odds-jarrod-bowen-signing-3065082
He flew to Marbella this morning, it's bollocks. Southampton have been favourites to sign him for several days, but the twelve year old know no more than that and no deal has been agreed.
