Off Topic well its sport anyway ENGLAND cricket & cricket & ladies

looks like we have India to beat to be world champions as Aussies lost and we have them in semi final ….
Somerset 1 trophy in the bag and currently top of lge 1 cricket by at least a no pointer!
our ladies finished fourth in footballs womens world cup … showed so much promise but just ran out of steam!
our cricketer ladies … bat tle on against the AUSSIES .. ..
It is really nice to see sport wise we are playing around the top of the tree, although I fear athletics might just go through a quiet period, cycling been a topper for us but a lot of the bigger names now giving way ..retiring or smashing themselves up against stone walls!

 

Really enjoyed the Womens WC - most teams played without all the cynical stuff you get in the mens game - quite refreshing

 

I look out over a school playing field, and over the years during play times [dinner hour ] and breaks boys have utilized the goal mouths and the odd girl has joined in …. this year at least one [ all girls 16 a side max seen] with sometimes 2 of the 3 pitch areas been either all girls or a mix … about 15 a side! boys tend to play about 12 -14 a side … an increase in numbers of about 30 girls getting stuck in... one or two actually keeping out of a swirling pack of 20 or so in a 10m circle that makes it way up and around the pitch … when the ball gets loose these "clever ones" race off and score! …
However I did notice Friday that numbers were down a bit … the usual 30 or so on the pitch down to 20 … !!!!
