Just how much money has Ashley actually got? He has been spending on buying up the High Street stores, and now his manager asks for a transfer budget , he says no. Well the lack of cash for the club seems to be what the Newcastle fans are saying tonight.

Perhaps he is using some of the Newcastle budget in purchasing the UK's High Streets?

Not very successfully in some cases.

Maybe he just doesn't want to be spending millions on players wages and transfer fees who might not come good.

Lampard will ofcourse get time and support form the Chelsea fans but how long will the board give him?

Suspect they will still expect top 4 and some sort of cup run...

Read it's going to cost £18 pay on the day to watch St Albans!

Must be almost as much as a lot of lower league clubs .

There is talk of fans boycott etc .

What do other teams in Non league charge ?

Not sure about the Nationwide League South but Taunton Town (One division lower) take in 8 pounds on the day. King's Langley (same division as Taunton) offer half price entry to anyone with a Watford FC. season ticket (or at least they did last season) !

Oh dear, here we go again. My interest in French football that I mention from time to time is having another one of those problems where a club does not put forward a sustainable budget for the the coming season. Last season Ligue 2 had both of the clubs from Ajaccio on Corsica playing, but one of them on the last day of the season was relegated. Now the other team has been told that they will be relegated because the figures to show they will be able to play the whole season do not add up. They will appeal of course, and the last time a similar situation cropped up it was December before it was sorted. Meanwhile the season is only four weeks away, the fans on Corsica may not have a team to watch at this level, and the team that was relegated, but now might be reprieved doesn't know who or where they will be playing. Seems as if the rules to prevent clubs going bust halfway through a season throw up their own set of problems.

Jersey Bulls had their first ever game yesterday a 4-3 defeat at home to Stevenage, with the Bulls taking the lead 3 times. In a way, it was appropriate that Jersey-born Kurtis Guthrie scored the winner. All credit to the Stevenage fans who joined in with the Jersey chanting and there were chants from them of "can we play you every year" when they were losing!

USA win 2-0 and deserved too in the end - Dutch goalie was excellent.

Chance for their Men to make it a double - with a victory in the Gold Cup although our Mexican friend will hope not!!!!!!!!!!

Looks as if Steve Bruce is on his way to Newcastle. On the day that Ashley cannot produce trading figures for his High Street businesses I wonder how long this one will last , before the two of them have a bust up.
