If I see we're linked with anyone, no matter who also is or isn't linked, I assume it's pointless. After signing a keeper (that QPR didnt want) GMcC said he was expecting at least 2 or 3 more before Marbella. He has none. There you go.
They would when there was more money on the table. We get close to signings nowadays, almost as if it is done to show willing without intent. Going through the motions. How many times have we seen that recently? Adkins was well pissed off. We’ve signed a keeper with a poor track record that we didn’t really need. Other areas needed addressing first. If the owners hadn’t ****ed off swathes of supporters maybe there might have been more money in the kitty to compete with salaries offered by smaller clubs.
Sam Gallagher is on £40k pw if this site is to believed: https://www.spotrac.com/epl/southampton-f.c/sam-gallagher-24078/ I started a game on FM2018 as Blues and they had Gallagher on loan. He was accountable for 10% of the weekly budget!
HEAD COACH GRANT MCCANN HAS NAMED A 26-MAN SQUAD FOR HULL CITY’S PRE-SEASON TRAINING CAMP TO MARBELLA. The Tigers will head to Spain this morning (Sunday) for a week-long camp in the south of the country, which will also see McCann’s side in match action against League Two side Leyton Orient (Tuesday 9th July) and Gibraltar Premier Division Champions Lincoln Red Imps (Friday 12th July). McCann will be taking three goalkeepers with him, with new signing Matt Ingram joined by George Long and Will Mannion, whilst Stephen Kingsley, Brandon Fleming, Eric Lichaj, Robbie McKenzie, Reece Burke, Jordy de Wijs, Lewis Ritson, Jacob Greaves and Matty Jacob provide defensive options. Midfielders Daniel Batty, Markus Henriksen, Kevin Stewart, Jackson Irvine, Jon Toral, Max Sheaf, David Milinkovic, Tyler Hamilton, Billy Chadwick and Ahmed Salam are joined by the attacking quartet of Jarrod Bowen, Kamil Grosicki, Nouha Dicko and Keane Lewis-Potter. Henriksen and Grosicki are joining up with their team-mates for the first time in pre-season after being given an extended break by McCann following their international exploits with Norway and Poland respectively at the end of the previous campaign. The squad will be training at the Marbella Football Center, which is located 14km outside of Marbella, on the Costa del Sol. The facility is set within 56,000 square-metres of grounds and boasts four 11-a-side pitches, four seven-a-side pitches and eight football tennis courts. All of the pitches are composed of 50 per cent fescue and 50 per cent ray grass on a silica sand base. As well as four changing rooms, there is a spa area, fully-equipped gym, medical centre, press room and a pitchside stand with a 1,000-person capacity. A busy and popular facility created to satisfy the highest demands and requirements of any professional football team, it ranks as one of the most exclusive sporting complexes in Europe and is used by more than 60 squads every year, including club sides such as Liverpool, Inter Milan, Benfica and Lyon and the national teams of Germany, Argentina and Sweden.
Do they still have foot golf at National Ave? That's a great day out with your mates. Beer, round of foot golf more beer, another round, more beer, taxi to Newland AVE, more beer...
Can't remember where I read it, but there's a Scottish story that says the reason there are 18 holes on a standard golf course is because there were 18 pubs close to one another when a few locals decided to use long sticks to hit a small ball around the area instead of kicking the ball. Romantic boozer's tale no doubt ?
