Whoops, I need to explain this ... If you don't beat your child regularly it will go bad Spare (as in don't use it enough) Rod (as in cane) Spoil (as in gone bad, not treating)
Sorry my sense of humour I guess.........spoil the rod as throw away the cane.......therefore saving the boy from injury...........sorry didn’t think my sense of humour was so outlandish to you guys.
That's a remarkable piece of writing. Personally, I have never considered Jeremy Corbyn as anti-semitic. He just doesn't give Israel a free pass to their actions. An attitude I share. I'm not hugely read into the Zionist movement, but I have read the odd thing and seen the odd documentary. To say that Israel believe that they can behave just as they please would be an understatement. What I don't get is that Jews suffered terribly during the Holocaust, so you would expect such a people to be sensitive to the oppressed.
Finally found time to read this astonishingly brilliant piece. Thank you so much for posting it Badge, it completely articulates what I have suspected for a long time, that there really IS a conspiracy going on to besmirch Corbyn’s excellent, lifelong record on fighting racism and tar him groundlessly with the antisemitism brush.
The Jewish government stoke up fear and anger just like the more extreme factions in Palestine. It’s a shame we don’t hear more in the media from the many Jews and Palestinians who want peace
Does not matter, the majority of voters voted for brexit, its strange that you assume that those that did not vote would have voted for remain, I would have thought that more in favour of brexit would not have bothered to vote as everyone knew that brexit would never happen
It’s a shame we hear so little rational, informed debate around the whole Israel/Palestine question. But like Northern Ireland a couple of decades ago, it’s become such an emotive subject that reasoned discussion has become almost impossible.
That goes the other way, when you have people believing one side is a sure victory, its supporters are the ones that get a lower turnout. People are more likely to go out of their way for a protest vote than to support something that think is going to win anyway.
Saw a Palestinian speaker at an event arranged by a local group last year. He talked about how **** life was for ordinary Palestinians and wanting Peace. Quite a few people there but he was preaching to the converted I think
Far easier to get people to vote to change something than to keep the status quo, that was the fatal flaw in Cameron’s plan.
Does anyone remember Louis Theroux's documentary about what it is like living within the disputed area? Here's an excerpt. The whole programme is unavailable. Good job I downloaded it when it was. Had a feeling it might be taken down:
THIS WEEK: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0006hn7/this-week-04072019 It may be disappearing this month, in which I am already cancelling my orders of Blue Nun and my membership of Lulu's, but this one was a good 'un. I'm going to really miss it when it doesn't come back in the autumn. Some excellent political debate goes on here.
A small majority of mislead voters in a fraudulent election. Far to small for such a momentous decision. To leave without another vote lead by either of the chumps standing to be the next PM would be less than democratic.
I usually watch LT stuff but missed this There so much he couldn’t talk about I struggled to work out what had happened here There’s a good film I’ve seen https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemon_Tree_(film)
The tory party are really in a bloody turmoil aren't they. They are trying to fill one of the most important positions in our parliament yet they can't even issue the correct number of ballot papers to each member.............Oh heck and they are going to govern us??? We really need a better lot leading this country if we are to survive as a country..........
