I have just read this: "Pontus' wife is ill in Sweden. He is training with Malmo and has club permission to stay there until mid July. Nothing else to it and Phillips is staying, part of Bielsa's conditions for staying."

Wasn't the Saiz story broken with a similar excuse too? Very convenient. And yet news broke today that Saiz has 12 days to get a club or return to TA for training. And yet it has been leaked that he'll never play for Leeds again! Wouldn't it be very easy for Pontus to tell journalists this instead of 'no comment'? He could have killed the story easily if this was true. As could the club. I have also had first hand testimony that the players at TA had absolutely no idea what was going on & were totally puzzled by his absence. You would think he'd be in touch with his mates at the very least & let them know what was going on. And then there's the return to TA date. Immediately after the tour party goes to Oz. Couldn't he have returned a couple of days earlier to join the party? Of course he could! But why didn't he? Surely both he & Bielsa would be keen for this to happen if all was as we would like. Everyone seems to be hearing different things, and unnecessary speculation is growing. So why are the club & Pontus not moving to quash the rumours? Answer? They can't.
Sadly, their only likely interest in the fans, is how much can be squeezed from our wallets. I’m bombarded daily with offers of new merchandise becoming available

It’s where some of the cash goes that’s the problem. There’s a dirty greasy side to the whole transfer side of the game driven by agents. Someone once pointed out paying a fee for a players not the problem as the money stays within the game, moving from one club to another enabling further transfers. The proble is the agents taking their 10 per cent every time. That’s money gone forever from the game. Liverpool paid 46m to agents last season alone but won’t bother them because of their massive merchandising machine
Or so you imagine. What if hes been given a rest as entitled as a human being. He may be training to keep fit as other players do these days in the off season. He took a lot of knocks at the end of the season and needs bringing back to fitness. He cant just turn up two days before Oz and get on the plane. So he stays at thorp arch and gets fit and ready for a new season.. Hows that for a theory with no evidence.
Doesn't matter where Jansson is, whether he's in Sweden, Leeds, Australia or Timbuktu, he's where he always wants to be.....the centre of attention.
