So Freeman signing for Sheffield United is undisclosed but breaks their record signing, which was 4million last year. So it is definately greater than 4 million plus add ons and we also get a percentage of sell on too. Think this the best we can hope for.
Another one I've never heard of but does seem to have a good pedigree. He was also injured last season just before he was due a start in the first team with a knee injury.
I think we're trying to get some cash from selling Freeman and Luongo to furnish the funds to sign a striker or two or three.
Good luck Luke. And good luck to Morrison...just hoping that he has got his head sorted out and realises that he is running out of time to make an impression in the Premiership. He has the talent but does he have the mental strength to keep things purely football and not get distracted?
https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/201...-joins-qpr-after-being-released-by-liverpool/ I know very little about him except that a few weeks ago he played for the Irish U21's at the Toulon tournament. They reached the semi final and lost out to Brazil. Seems well thought of over here, RTE sports page on their website have an article about it.
It's clear that we need a couple of strikers. However, we really need to replace Freeman with a creative midfielder who gets things moving. Someone who can actually take a corner/free-kick.
Lovely piece by Clive on Luke...… https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...ws/50464/antoine-freezman-bids-adieu-–-column
That's a brilliantly warm and moving tribute to a wonderful, wonderful player. As much as I shall miss his skill and his commitment, Luke thoroughly deserves his chance of playing in the Premier League.
A good piece & wish Luke all the best, as disappointing it is to see a player leave we never want to be a barrier to someone going further & the fact that we made a decent return on our investment is great but still a little depressing when it highlights our need to do the same over & over again. I'm not convinced that's achievable & certainly not something we've consistently done in recent times. Apart from the lack of strikers I'm really pleased to see us doing business early as nothing frustrates me more than going through pre/early season games before we finally get that seasons squad fully assembled.
Excellent piece. That performance against Leeds was as good as any I have ever seen from a QPR player. I hope he goes on to make his mark in the Premier.
Think I read the French defender we signed, who'd been at Brentford, was good with the corners and free kicks..
I would have liked to see Morrison given one more chance to shine, he was class in his brief spell here.
Just saw on Twitter we are in talks with Stoke about taking Geoff Cameron. He is apparently keen to come back.
He did well for us but he's hardly the future. I know we need a mix of youth and experience to survive or, dare I say, prosper but this is a bit too pragmatic for me. I'd prefer someone with a bit more gas in the tank who might develop with us rather than decline.
