David Burns @bbcburnsy Seems there's serious interest from @HullCity in Malik Wilks @LUFC Other clubs sniffing but @grantmccann11 had him at Donny last year which might put #hcafc in pole.
Ehab's asked him to come for a trial with us but has then realised Wilks also has a trial at Leeds Crown Court booked for May 2020.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/hull-city-handed-possible-transfer-boost/ Tenuous link, but we’ll take any link we can at the moment. Rafa Mir at Wolves?
HDM, about McCann and more links .... "...... he leads a depleted squad to Spain this weekend for a warm-weather training camp". Yep, here we go again. Nobody tells 'em how to run their (ambitious my arse) club. How long before McCann realises he's just the latest in a growing line of those stitched up? I said it at the start, and I still believe it, that yes he'll have known about the Allam ****s before he joined and known there would be constraints, but he is just another one taken in hook, line and sinker. And don't call me negative. I'm positive about it.
Hull City have held talks with Leeds United in a bid to sign winger Mallik Wilks. The 20-year-old is high on the wish-list of head coach Grant McCann and the Tigers are one of several clubs to make their interest known to Leeds. McCann hopes his connection with Wilks can help swing a deal in City’s favour after working alongside the youngster at Doncaster Rovers last season. Wilks made 53 appearances during his season-long loan at the Keepmoat Stadium, scoring 16 goals in a team that narrowly missed out on promotion from League One. The Leeds-born attacker still has another two years to run on his contract at Elland Road but there is an acceptance regular football is unlikely to come under Marcelo Bielsa this season. Leeds are understood to open to the prospect of Wilks leaving in a permanent deal if a fee can be agreed.
He is due in court in a year on a charge of alleged violent disorder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Connected to a stabbing in a West Indian carnival in Leeds. He denies all charges. Sounds like a prospect, but a risk.
I feel dirty as it’s Leeds related. But we’ve signed players previously based solely on you tube footage.
Surprised we haven’t been linked with Marquis at Donny yet. The expectation from Doncaster fans was that McCann would be back in for Marquis.
Judging by that footage he looks like a replacement for Bowen .. looks to have a half decent turn of pace on him and a decent delivery
Leeds fans think this Wilks deal is done. Slightly concerned about the court case - it seems pretty serious. Connected to a stabbing allegedly
