Great moment for equality in Women's football, equally as frustrating as the men and can't take penalties...

Yes, seems that's a close estimate based on a few searches I just did. 70-75 %.
Pressure can be great on both the taker & keeper's side depending on the circumstances in the game.
50 % is probably my own record, and I don't get tense in any situation. I'm just **** by your definition <laugh>
Thank goodness the positive 50 % were when it really mattered :emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0112-wonde

Shouldn't have been given the penalty anyway, the taker knew it and that's why she fluffed it. Sportsmanship conduct and all that :bandit:

They gave it a ****ing good go. We've all seen the 'men' play **** ffs.

I'd wager the women will win something before the men do.

A number of football experts reviewed and decided it was a penalty. The penalty ‘shot’ was however appalling.

What did you have to compare said game to, to reach that conclusion ? Telly broadcasts ? TV highlights ?

Jonathan Pearce said the womens international game is only 50 years old, so for them to get to the semi final is good going. Its currently got it's limitations. But it wasn't bad.

And in the same way that a Hullensian male had a vital input into the man's game, the most successful England's woman captain (still, I think) when the game was developing was also a Hullensian.

I coach my lads side and we had a mixed team up until a year ago. We played in the top division for their age group and a lass we had playing for us in the first team was every bit as good as the other players. It’s quite popular at present and there’s a number of girls teams popping up at local clubs. I think it’s a good thing and it should be encouraged.

Yep. This is why England is playing catch up, and have almost caught up.
The US coach was born in England and got the passion for football here. But USA gave the opportunity and ability to follow a career path, nearly 40 YEARS AGO.
Whereas 40 years ago, Englands Womens team came home from their World Cup in Mexico and got banned!

It will get to the required level soon. Academies up and down the Country are now scouting clubs for female footballers.

It’s improved quite a lot and it’s looking like it’s going to keep going on the right direction.
That can only be a good thing.
In all honesty though it’s not a very good spectacle. Technically they’re light years away from the top standard men’s game, and still some way behind even the lowest professional standard in the men’s game.

Typical catch 22 situation though. They need tv money and investment from individuals. To get that you need to raise the profile. It’s difficult to raise the profile of something that isn’t all that entertaining. It’s happening slowly though. I just don’t think personally that I’ll be a regular spectator for a good few years yet.

VAR did itself no favours last night, it was clear on the second or third replay there had been contact , and it was a penalty . could have been given after ten seconds and everyone gets a pat on the back . Yet they insisted on 100 other replays some at comical Benny Hill speed and some from a camera that seemed to be up in space , like that was supposed to help

Of course girls should be encouraged to play and having the womens world cup on TV will inspire them

I'm a middle aged man so maybe I'm supposed to moan and groan and complain about the games been on TV
and the standard been terrible and all that but no , I think it's a good thing
