I honestly think we may go down now. We are in disarray on and off the pitch so things bode badly.

I’ll reserve judgement until I know who our manager is.

We will be ok man!! Another season of mid to low table shyyte as per usual.

    What's not to like?

It would have been the same under Rafa given his mandate.

    What will be, will be!!

    Enjoy the fecking horrible ride!!

    At least it's never boring!

Might struggle for the first few games whilst the players learn new phrases from the new manager. Pass and attack come to mind. But relegation - not a chance!

Don't be so sure we are getting one!
We not only lost Rafa, but his backroom too. Perhaps Mike is doing is himself!
Training - "keep yourselves fit - you should know what you're doing by now."
Match tactics - "I pay you how much, but have to guide you like a 5 year old - behave! Score more than them, it's simples!!"

Given that Rafa has left, Rondon has left, there is no Manager in sight, the takeover is lies and we have no transfer targets, Newcastle United are pretty much guaranteed to get relegated next season.

Currently yes but we aren't even back to pre season yet although it's just around a corner.

All depends on keeping our best players in Perez, Almiron, and the defenders, who comes in as manager, who comes in/stays as owner/s, what incoming players we can sneak over the line.

There is a lot up in the air, and like I say we aren't even back in preseason yet, once we get to August and there is no one in to manager, no new players in, best players sold, no new owner and the HMRC give us a £20 billion pound fine for signing Xisco and not paying the proper tax then I'll start worrying.

Would agree with a large part of what has been said already. Clearly this reinforces the uncertainty surrounding the club. Most, if not all, clubs are focusing on building and improving their squad. We are not. The paralysis is infectious and will spread into the players.

However, if we keep Perez, Lejeune, Almiron etc and buy the 4 players we need and bring in a competent manager, we'll be safe. Let's see! Who is the favourite for the managerial gig now?

Our season will pretty much be defined by who the owner(s) of our club turns out to be. If it's Ashley then we will sell all of our best players and be relegated (where have I heard that before?). If new owners come in, i'll be happy to keep our best players, get shot of the **** and bring a few new faces in, finish mid table (safely) and build from there season on season....anything better than that is a bonus.

I'd say it would be highly unlikely. However Ashley is more than capable of appointing another dullard like McClaren. Then all bets are off.

I think it depends on the manager. If we get someone safe but not exciting like Moyes (who I personally think they'll consider), Martinez, Pulis or someone similar then we will be perfectly fine. I don't think the squad is that bad, and I think the new manager will have money to spend, so players almost 100% will be coming in.

I can see the logic behind the Steve McClaren appointment, he was having a bit of a revival at Derby and the media were discussing it quite a bit at the time, I wasn't surprised to see him get a premier league job. That being said, it was a terrible gamble and I don't think they'll do that again. So we won't be hiring a Championship manager or something similar.

To digress, I think if we hire someone tactically competent and has some premier league experience we will be fine. If we hire some random fella on the cheap we will be relegated for sure.

Two positives, you'd think Ashley would have learnt his lesson and will bring in someone experienced enough to keep us in the division. And Ashley will still want to protect his investment, its in his interest financially to keep us in the division.

Well it's good that we now know we are actively selling our best players. Top scorer for the last 2 seasons - on the way out the door, Rondon no chance he'll be back, Diame while people may not like it he has been consistently good (not great) and probably our best midfielder since coming back up left on a free.

Lose 1 or 2 of Lejuene, Schar, Lacselles and Dubravka and we really are in a world of pain all of a sudden.
