there was definitely a dive button in the past, i remember it from when fifa's camera's were from the corners of the ground and it was when it just started to look 'ok'. It , very cartoony must have been one of the earlier versions - mid 90's or something, deffo before Fifa 98
There was a button to 'dive' more recently than that I swear... Although I might web more like the current one where you just need to pug the analog sticks wen someone slides in At you...
Yeah, must have been before '97 as that's the earliest one I've played. Although I was very young when I played that I could easily have missed the dive button
I reckon the flaw in this 12, the new defending tweaks SHOULD make the game better, but your players are so sluggish to react that you can't get close enough to use them. Mind, when i first got 11 i thought it was horrific and couldn't pass, then after a few days intensive playing it was fine. The way the console controlled players do a full circle everytime they get the ball is still there though, and that really ****ing annoys me, especially as there is a delay before your player moves, so even though you know it's gonna happen, you can't move into position.
I hope on FIFA 12 the player physics are better. At least they are better than PES though.
They were obviously including some smooth moves. He starts off by going down the escalator and then morphs into some sort of crab move. Edit: As for the ground. It clearly just hates Ronaldo as much as everyone else, so decided it would try to swallow him.
Pretty sure fifa 99, a ****ing classic by the way, had the dive button as well as an intentional foul button where your player would launch his studs into the midriff of any player standing close enough, even your own team. I've been playing 12 on world class and scraped a few 1-0 wins but also suffered a few tankings. Play still feels a bit delayed and detached from the movements you want to make, but it was the same on the demo for 11 and they seemed to sort that out before the actual game came out. Still, 12 feels like enough of a departure to warrant buying it, so roll on the 30th.
Anybody played the second PES 2012 demo? What do you think of it? I'm quite impressed buy it and might have to get it as well as FIFA this year.
That's true enough mind, the 11 demo was ****, you couldn't shoot above ground level, yet the shooting in the full game was immense once you sussed it. I'll buy it either way.
I was wrong, wow. FIFA did have a dive button. However I am pretty sure they will never have one again. This is due to the increase in diving in real football and due to there attempts to stamp it out they don't want to promote it to young people by introducing it on FIFA.
The fifa demo is class for me. It's much harder on world class than 11, I like that. Means more longevity in the career.
If they sort out the reaction times of your players, it COULD be immense. I'm impressed by the selection of boots, good to see that it's not 900 pairs of Adidas, 2 Nike and 1 Puma! Etihad Stadium looks class as well, managed to not have massive gaps between goals and stands, which REALLY annoys me, SJP is actually the best example, as i'm on your board!
Yeah true but remember this isn't the actual game. This demo would have been done a while ago and improvements have hopefully been made since then.
Yeah, i guess you can tell by things like Fabreagas and Nasri being at Arsenal it's a while back. I whine about the demo every year, if i'm honest, then buy on release day, play for 3 hours, and tell everyone it's better than jesus, then get annoyed at it after a few weeks, but play it anyway. Every years i'm the same man!
I think you've just decribed 90% of fifa players there! Normally I like the demo, love the game, moan about the game then play it religiously for 10 months.
