just seen on the news there is an offer for our goalie 5 mill on the table

 

That would be a dilemma if the fee is accurate. We had a nightmare with keepers before him, and he's quality, so I wouldn't want him to go but it's not usually that difficult to find a competent keeper so it'd arguably be a gamble worth taking because it's big money for league one.

 

Keep him.

We lost points through having sh*te goalies which in turn contributed to our relegations.

 

If it's true we'll sell him for that no doubt.

£5m would fund our full season for transfers in this league.

£5 million! There is no one on our roster I wouldn't sell for that. That would enable us to get Maddison, and still have £1 million left over.

League two the way things could go for us, first Maja but not the goalie as well, have we owners here ? or another Short and Murray, i will wait till Aug 2nd to renew my card then.

Big Jon is a cracking keeper but £5million at this level we would rip their elbows out the sockets.

The bigger concern is it would likely be far less (Millwall are the interested club and they ain’t spending £5million on anyone), but my be big enough for us to deal.

Would he want to leave Sunderland for Millwall? You’d hope not to be honest.

We need to do whatever we can to keep the likes of these 2, or only our best players, but the leagues.

If we are to get out this year we need to push it.

It would be stupid to sell JM or AM because if we get promoted, as I expect, we would need to buy a similar quality keeper and winger, but then, I think, in the Championship prices would be higher (than £5 million for a decent keeper)

We would need many new players next year to stay in the championship as our current squad isn’t good enough. Selling 2 of our best players means we would probably have a goalie and winger who are not so good as these two and we would have to buy better ones for next season.

Anyway, I’m sure we won’t sell our 2 best players if we want promotion.
