We've peaked for a couple years then if that's the case. We are the best team and the form team over a sustained period of time. This is the best one day team we have ever had by a country mile. It doesn't seem to have worked out for whatever reason, I'd guess they've struggled with the pressure of being at home. It can't have anything to do with peaking too early, surely.
We'll see soon enough but it would suggest that comfortably beating Pakistan in a one day series immediately before only to then lose to them, and Sri Lanka and Australia so far, in the world cup is that they were performing at their best too early. If we win tomorrow and steady the ship they could pick back up but, right now, they're in a hell of mess so, yeah, peaked too soon. Doesn't help that we're a one trick pony with a captain that absolutely refuses to change tactics according to circumstances.
One thing I never got about England cricket is why they try and get all the players to bat and/or bowl a certain way. It makes them all similar Yeah sure there has to be coaching but there also has to be natural quirks and flair from players. I can't imagine a Sarwan or even Steve Smith being allowed to carry on playing the way they do. It's a "no stand this way, absolutely still and bat held here"... I also think moeen gets unfair stick to a degree. When he burst into the scene he was a decent bat who could bowl a bit. Now he is a front line bowler who bats a bit. His bowling was never that good but now neither his batting.
Had the Pakistan match on and it's a bit of a shame about the Afghan injuries as this was shaping up to be a tight one. One bowler off injured and another with a shoulder knock meaning they may not be able to bowl either.
Lol I switched it off to go out. Got no idea what's happened but all I'll say reading the comments is.... #bentasfuck
