QPR line up loan signings of Amos and Smith
    By West London Sport 28/06/2019

QPR have agreed in principle the loan signings of midfielders Luke Amos and Matt Smith from Tottenham and Manchester City respectively.

Amos (pictured) has made one senior appearances for Spurs, as a late substitute, and been on loan at Southend and Stevenage.

The 22-year-old made his Premier League debut last August but suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage in an Under-23 game six weeks later and was sidelined for the rest of the season.

Spurs are now looking to loan him out again in order for him to pick up more first-team experience and have indicated that he can move to Loftus Road.

City have similarly indicated that Rangers can have Wales international Smith, who spent last season on loan Dutch club FC Twente.

Smith, 19, is more of a defensive midfielder and has been with City since 2014, having previously been at West Brom.

Meanwhile, Rangers have rejected an initial offer for their own Matt Smith, from Millwall, but talks between the two clubs are ongoing and the striker is expected to move.

A £4m offer from Sheffield United for Luke Freeman has also been rejected, while QPR director of football Les Ferdinand hasconfirmed the club will listen to offers for Massimo Luongo West London Sportrevealed this week that Rangers are looking to sell him.

Anyone else a bit miffed with SLF’s comment
"All our players are up for sale. It's not just Mass specifically - it's all the individuals at the football club.“
Now I understand that may be the truth; but when you want players to play for the club this sort of talk doesn’t help.
By all means say that every player at every club has a price and everyone has to listen if the right offer comes along to the benefit of both the club and the player. But announcing it likes it’s a desperate sale, irks me a bit.
There’s a way to put things!

Actually, to be fair to SLF, when I found the relevant article in WLS, it was phrased a bit better: "“There has been a bit of interest for Massimo. We are a club that if the right offer comes in for one of our players – especially with the FFP situation – we have to look at everything.”

Difficult to argue with that when it's phrased in that way.

    Yes and no.
As a QPR fan I want us to buy and keep good players.

However, in the business of football, if your offered Levy £250m for Kane, he would sell.

I think SLF is just saying every player has a price and, with FFP, we have to cut our cloth according to means. Sadly.

I'm properly excited about Smith - and despite understandable misgivings about developing other team's young players, I'd much prefer that than paying over the odds for 35 year olds on the way down. [With genuine respect for Geoff Cameron, who clearly put in huge effort, but clearly isn't the future!]

Both of these young loan signings look really good and I'm happy with all of the business we've done so far.

Just waiting for the 25-goal striker, though.

So what have we got so far - a goalie, a LB, a CB, two midfielders? Am I missing any?

Yeah, I think that's it. We're going to need a striker or two.

    Team so far

    Kelly
    Furlong Leistner/Hall Barbet Wallace

    Smith Amos Manning/Scowen plus 1 from (BOS/Smythe/Chair)

    Eze plus A.N.Other ....(Oteh/Walker)

I am assuming that we part company with Freeman, Luongo and the other Matt Smith...probably for a total of about 10 million

We need to part company with Goss and Wheeler as well.

I can see this team doing quite well (that means better than last year...I don't mean actually threatening anything important like the playoffs)
