Sky think we've bid £6m for Preston's Callum Robinson. His Wikipedia helpfully says he signed for Norwich City today for £1.75m
Yeah it was corrected by the time I'd viewed it a second time. Paddy Davitt has tweeted that the club have no interest in Robinson, whole rumour is crap.
Another Twitter rumour is that Rocky Bushiri, 19 year old Belgian CB, has already had a medical ahead of a move.
With all these rumours of players City are supposed to be signing are we not forgetting we just signed a player (Drmic) only a few days ago, so the next signing will probably be in roughly another 3 - 3.5 weeks time (roughly mid-July), unless it is for the U23 squad.
I would imagine we don't work on transfers linearly, getting one over the line before turning out attention to the next target. There's probably plenty of sending messages and sounding people out, which all takes time. The club spoke of wanting to get as many new faces in place before pre-season as possible - we've seen with Krul how important that can be. I wouldn't be surprised if we manage another signing in the next 10 days.
Definitely one for the U23s, Jonathan Tomkinson, an American defensive player, also expected to sign.
This one has been picked up by a number of blogs now and Bushiri is 'reportedly' on his way to CR for a medical. Now 19, he has played 23 games in the Belgian second tier and 5 times for the Belgian U21s. Could be one for the U23s as well as providing cover for the first team. ://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rocky-bushiri/profil/spieler/511802
Great to see us making signings destined for the Under 23s. I managed to get to a few of their games last season, but having lost Lewis, Aarons and Godfrey to the first team, they didn’t win many games. Quite a few of their games are now played at Colney FML.
Another look at Bushiri from Vital Football: "Bushiri is an academy product of Belgian top flight club, K.V. Oostende. He is of Congolese descent and signed a two-year professional contract with Oostende in 2017, meaning he is now out of contract. A little research suggests that Oostende would still be entitled to some compensation for the training and development of the player as he is under 24 years of age, based on an agreed current market valuation under FIFA’s Training Compensation scheme. Rocky spent last season on-loan at another Belgian top-flight club, K.A.S. Eupen where he made 31 appearances. He is also an U19 and current Belgian U21 international." His 23 appearances were in the top tier rather than the second tier as I said above. Would seem a very good deal if we can sign him for around £100k when his value is over £1m on TransferMarkt.
Rocky Bush Belgium u21 International for £100k ? https://readnorwich.com/2019/06/29/bushiri-travelling-to-norwich-to-finalise-move/
Great! Thanks DH. He is the same player. I read he doesn't graduate til 2020. That's some scouting network NCFC has if they can pick out a high school student from Dallas.
