Why, oh why, do we need a whopping 50, I say 50, races on the Flat in the Isle tomorrow?!? Answers on a postcard please to the usual address…

Isn’t that too many by at least 20 contests?!?

Well, it's to be hoped you've been sleeping with the stable staff - if not the actual horse <laugh>

Good luck with your bets, tips and info today fellas. I’ll be on a plane bound for Egypt for a well earned break. I’ve stuck my neck out and gone for the Fav in the big one at Newcastle along with a couple of the forums tips. Have a great weekend fellas :emoticon-0167-beer:

Cosmelli @ 25/1 ew 6 places in the Pitmans Derby. Won the Vase last year and I'm sure his handler will have him primed for this race. Good luck everyone.

Dreadful card in terms of numbers at HQ today, with the 5 o’clock the only double-digit field yet the poorest race (2:40) worth £5k to the winner. Less money on offer and mostly small fields at Chester too. Lots of small fields and short-priced favourites today makes for an unappetising Saturday. Will not touch Newcastle: too much turf form that cannot be relied upon on the sand (last week’s Ascot flop Invincible Army will probably trot up without the weight of my money).

I cannot recall the last time that the Irish Derby was an all-Irish affair. I suppose with the finish at Epsom dominated by Irish runners this is just a re-run of Epsom with the winner, second and fourth going head-to-head again (the third Japan went to Ascot). Will this track suit Broome better? Will Anthony Van Dyck improve enough to see them off again? Will they change tactics on Madhmoon successfully? Got to feel sorry for Seamie Heffernan, jocked off the favourite and on the third string Norway today.

Having to wait until the 7:30 at Doncaster for the only bet of the day. Very little good recent form to go on so it looks to be between the two last-time-out winners: Galloway Hills and EQUIANO SPRINGS. The former beat a big field at York under today’s jockey (Cartmell Cleave, Buccaneers Vault and Barton Mills behind) and has been raised 5lb. The latter won over course and distance (Normal Equilibrium and Galloway Hills behind) and is up 6lb for the two length margin six weeks ago.

    Two bets today:

    Newmarket 3.15pm Glorious Journey 7/2
Newcastle 3.35pm Who Dares Wins 14/1 each way. Hasn't run on the sand for a while but has ran well on it in the past. This has been the aim for a while but that does apply to a few others in this also.

    Good luck all.
