If Palace lose Zaha then that's 2 good players they've lost, could be in trouble next season if they don't get good replacements in for them.
A BRILLIANT article from DDF extolling the virtues of our youff players to whet your appetite. IMO, we may get trounced by some of the 'top 6' occasionally, but I'm confident that we're capable of causing a few upsets as well!! https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/nothing-to-fear-for-norwich-city-starlets-1-6133183
I wouldn't use the past tense just yet - it's still June!! And (not being picky) why mention the "£1.5million paid to Getafe looks an absolute steal" when he - and we know there was a substantial (5M euros) bonus due to the Spanish club in the event of our promotion. Brilliant that they've all (bar Cantwell, who is by far the least crucial to the current set up) signed up to long term deals. Great work - again, SW and DF
Gary Gower has produced another thought provoking piece on where we are now, based around Arsène Wenger's belief that "teams mirror their managers”: http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...es-give-city-hope-for-new-season-in-the-prem/ He convincingly concludes that this is the strength we will be taking into this PL season: "There has been a calmness and composure about this group borne directly of Farke’s own. It doesn’t begin and end with his chilled demeanour though. There’s also the inner steel and belief that his way is the right way, which has filtered from Colney and the technical area into the psyche of the players. 'All on the same page’ is a horrible, painful phrase but you’d struggle to find a better footballing example than this current group, who clearly have total and complete faith in everything they are told, shown and demonstrated. Those who are brought in and added to the group but whose stays here are short are the ones who either question the message or struggle to take it on board in the first place. That this team successfully “mirrors” its head coach in terms of its temperament and belief can only be a good thing." Gary's right in saying that this is our core strength going into the new season. The likes of PL, CH, and AN produced teams with different demeanors, none of which were suited to a long stay in the PL. DF is very different, as his team exudes a calm confidence and deep belief in how they play and what it achieves. Those that don't accept this don't stay. The emphasis on youth allows this to be instilled early, before players come into the first team. Jamal, Max, Ben and Todd are perfect examples of this. It's one thing to have skills, but those skills must fit into the team play. This is also what drives the recruitment. New players must fit and put the team first and Roberts and Drmic get that they will only succeed if the team succeeds and that's what gives me confidence about next season and beyond.
Yes Rick, I read that earlier and it's great to see how he and his fellow MFW contributors (has anyone else become a PATREON to help fund the MFW website??) are quietly confident that we might just be able to stay in the PL for more than just one season. I see he's expecting an announcement of next season's kit and shirt sponsors imminently!!!
https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/july/dafabet/ Kit launch is tomorrow Youth kids will still have the Trampoline Park logo.
Michael Bailey believes the club had three major offers for shirt sponsorship - all were betting companies.
Dafabet have at least allowed their logo on the shirts to be used in club colours: please log in to view this image
Though I'm not keen on betting company sponsorship I accept the argument Kensall makes in the Pinkun and the use of club colours is an advantage. Much better than the LeoVegas logo and much more money as well.
Here you are FML (and others who can get to the games) - https://www.canaries.co.uk/Tickets/Home-Away-Tickets/ Adults £10, Under 18s £1. #bargain
