I'm keeping it now. I upgraded to a Quad, but then flogged it when on hard times and went back to my old one.

My old boss used to call me into his office every few weeks because his printer wasn't working.

Virtually every time I had to point out that he'd unplugged it to plug in his phone charger.

I'm a big fan of everything ACER - had two desktops and a laptop, never had so much as a bad flicker from any of them, they're not the cheapest (nor most expensive) but I can't fault their reliability in any way.

To be fair buying a new one is probably a similar cost to getting it repaired.

I’ve had a Dell for the last 5 years. Absolute workhorse. I’ve dropped it, abused its little track pad thing, jabbed its touchscreen with harsh stabby fingers, left it on sleep for ages without shutting down, basically everything you’re told not to do.

It’s on its last legs now, batteries died and I’m coaxing it through as long as it lasts.

Absolute darling. Love it. I ordered a new one to replace it about 8 months ago. Not in the same league. It’s still in the box.

    Highly recommended.

I’ve just ordered one of these https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9174243

My youngest lad, he’s 28, is my IT guru and he recommended it, so that’s good enough for me. Should you order something different stay away from dual core lap tops as he told me they’re now obsolete.

I fell down the stairs with my Lenovo, top to bottom, like some comedy stuntman. It's all good.

I'm on my third Dell laptop, I'm on it all day every day, at least 55 hours a week and it never lets me down.

The only reason I have to get new ones, is that I wear the keyboard out.

In fact, I can't see the letters on throgt ugiut my flotn.

I’m a iMac man, got my first one in 07, upgraded to the 27” Retina display in 2017, wiped the old one, gave it to my son and it’s still going strong, bulletproof are Macs, piece of piss to work, never really go wrong ( internal disc drive packed up on the old one)

I only got into Apple because I bought an iPod and my old Sony laptop worked **** with iTunes

Thanks for all the advice fellas, much appreciated.
I use my laptop to get online to stream series, films and sport and come on here of course. In a couple of weeks I should have about £500- £600 to spend on a new one but i'm a silver surfer and knows bugger all about laptops so your advice is helping a lot, thank you. <cheers>

That’s exactly what I want mine for pal, which is why I asked my lad which would be the best product to buy. I’ll be using putlocker, 123movies, etc, and I’ll be streaming via the net cast app. The lap top that I linked you to should be perfect for you, and at the same budget as I had. Mine arrives next Tuesday, if you want me to I’ll add an update as to how well it streams when I have it.

No problem, I’ll be giving it a good few tests on Wednesday and Thursday next week on my days off, I’ll let you know how it goes but I’m fairly confident as my lad definitely knows his stuff <ok>

I generally have Apple stuff, but I've been designing on a Windows based design program for the past twenty years and I'm too old to change now.
