So the question is should Leeds Utd sell jack clarke to tottenham and buy dwight gayle with the money ?? my view is a resounding YES ! although jack clarke is a very good player we need to score more goals and dwight gayle will do that as he did for west brom last season 23 goals , and you never know if leeds keep jack clarke and dont do this will jack clarkes illness return and then he may not be available to play in key matches anyway .
We need jack Clarke right now to be an established match winner, but sadly hes a kid still learning and has a great future. So we need to cash in on him so we can bring someone in who can be a match winner for us right now. Sorry but we need to get out of this league to stop us having to sell our kids....
I agree, but seemingly our very own Angus Kinnear has other ideas : "We're very confident in the squad that we've got" he stated...........what a fool, totally deluded.
Hopefully Phil Hays new job isnt writing the press releases for Kinnear. If it is, hes hopeless at it so far
Listen, I'm as a pessimistic Leeds fan you're ever likely to meet but you really need to show his statement in full so this line shown in context.
What about if Leeds paid Gayle a normal wage each week same as others but give him a joining on fee with the loan contract that takes him up to what he was wanting in wages then it won't upset the dressing room , also what is 23 goals in the championship valued at possibly what Gayle is asking for ? Yes ?
Tr True goals is what will get us out of championship so getting a verified goalscorer is the right move
In my view those same players that bottled it when under pressure in the final 4 games will do the same again we need new faces and a great goal scorer like Dwight Gayle will give Leeds so much confidence the defence also although we were one of the leanest in championship last season , when it is under pressure like we saw in the last 4 matches certain players under that pressure bottle it and I dont have confidence in cooper under pressure too many times instead of kicking the ball out he messes around with the ball as he did in the derby play off game at home in the mix up , what he SHOULD have done is took control of the situation and told the keeper he was going to kick it out and keeper to leave it , also other matches he has done the same mistake instead of kicking the ball out , also jansson sometimes can be out of position and gets beaten , also beradi although I like him for his tough tackling and decent defending I think he his legs are not up to the speed of the game now and he gets injured a lot and red carded which is not good , Shackleton needs to be in the 1st team regular now and I believe bielsa when he says he could not get anymore out of these crop of players , what Leeds need is the old saying , "when the going gets tuff the tuff gets going " as in the 2nd half of the 2nd leg derby play off game and the Wigan game we need players that can dig in and tuff it out , there are plenty about at moment but we never seem to go for the tried and tested ones, going abroad etc is not the answer we saw enough of tuff championship and premier league players last season one of which Dwight Gayle is right there under our noses but yet again we dont go for him and we could work out his wages so they are same as other players but just give him a signing on bonus and to get the rest of the bonus he has to score 20+ goals target
Jack Clarke is supposed to be having a medical at spurs today in a reported fee of 8m which I think is way too low and sounds like desperation he should be at least 15m so to get dweight Gayle we would have to put another 7 million towards it as usual we sell too cheap
Whoever we are getting although jack Clarke fee is very low and Leeds should have held out for more , it gives owner 8m to get or put towards another player and I would say it will go towards a striker , and it recouped money paid out for bamford which was 7m
You’re completely ignoring the fact that Bielsa is not remotely interested in Gayle, and that we need to sell Clarke to pay the bills, not to fund new signings. The loan market will still be our playground this year, and Gayle won’t be interested in going out on loan again. Besides, it’s all well and good saying we need another striker as it will completely revolutionise our season next year, but Bielsa is quite rightly targeting the wide options as a priority. Clarke leaving, no Harrison (albeit he may return), Hernandez another year older, Dallas and Alioski used to better effect at full back... out wide is where our priorities rightly lie. With the right service, and both having injury-free seasons, I’d be fairly sure Roofe and Bamford would contribute 35+ goals between them.
Were getting 8.5 for Jack so that ends the speculation. Add ons irrelevant as based on stuff he may or may not achieve in the future
